Super Fun(tache)tic Dad

Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenges has a new challenge ready to go for you!

CBC will feature a new Bingo card for each challenge and while this isn't your typical game of BINGO, you are required to use at least three items in ONE column.

We are a "just for fun" challenge where you will have the chance to proudly display our Winner or Top Pick Badge!

My choice is the "N" column - Masculine, Enamel Dots, Teal and Fancy Fold.

Assembling the gate fold card I used papers by Max & Whiskers, Elvis Collection and the sentiments are from Dude! by Kelly Purkey and Fun(tashe)tic by The Craft's Meow (both no longer available)

I cut a number of mustache layers using Matey Mustaches die cuts by Echo Park and glued the layers together to make a stack. I glued the mustaches to the lighter panel, added some teal enamel dots and applied the sentiment using foam squares.

So glad you stopped by and I look forward to seeing your creation!

Merry Kissmas Baby

Christms Bingo Challenges has a new challenge ready to go for you!

CBC will feature a new Bingo card for each challenge and while this isn't your typical game of BINGO, you are required to use at least three items in ONE column.

We are a "just for fun" challenge where you will have the chance to proudly display our Winner or Top Pick Badge!

My choice was the "I" column - Stenciling, Square, Masculine and Frame.

I used my Cricut Joy to cut out three sprigs of Mistletoe and used white Nuvo Drops to create the berries.  After the drops dried I went to work assembling the sprigs, added touches of glue here and there and finished with a bow of bakers twine on top.

I used two square die-cuts to create the white frame and and I used texture paste and a brick stencil to create some dimension with a more "manly" look to the black and grey plaid background paper from the Let it Snow collection by Carta Bella.

The sentiments are from two different sets, Big Holiday Wishes by Simon Says Stamp and Celebration Scripts by Pretty Pink Posh.  The inside sentiment reads "Meet me under the Mistletoe"

So glad you stopped by and I look forward to seeing your creation!

Dennis with a Sling Shot

FUN FOLDS is the theme for our new challenge at Creative Knockouts!

We have a fabulous sponsor so make sure to upload your creation for your chance to win a special prize from StarStampz!

This image is Dennis and is one of my faves as it so reminds me of my boys when they were young.  I used Copics to color the image and set to work on the Dutch Door Fold I found while scanning through Pinterest, Kim Williams has easy to follow instructions here.

I used oval die cuts and patterned paper from Hello Spaceboy collection by Prima Marketing however it's old stock and no longer available. This fun fold is super easy and super quick and will definitely be using this fold again.

Make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team then it's your turn to start creating!

Go-Kart Fun

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Birthday Wishes.

Our sponsor for this challenge is one and only Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and the lucky winner will receive 2 images of their choice!

Since my hubby is obsessed with go-karts at the moment, I chose to work with GoKart Gordon for this challenge. I decided to make two different cards, one birthday as that's our theme and the second a retirement card.

I came across a sketch at Stick it Down and decided to give it a try. I colored the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them out.

In support of Ukraine, I used blue and yellow on my first card and matched it with papers from On the Go Collection by Bo Bunny.  For the second card I used papers from the Celebrate Collection by Authentique.

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team

You Totally Rock

Welcome to our "For the Men" Challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls!   Our sponsor for this challenge is De Egel and the lucky winner will receive a special prize!

This image is Road Works Reg from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut Road Works Reg then I started coloring with Copic markers.  This is the perfect image for me as I want to make cards for the guys on my team working on one of my transportation projects.  We're almost done the project and they've worked really hard to get it to completion.

For the background I used a brick stencil with Picket Fence Distressed Ink.  I stamped the sentiment (Uplifters by Paper Smooches) with Versamark and set it with White embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Let the Good Times Roll

Welcome back! Today I'm sharing my creation for our new challenge at Creatalicious Challenges and until July 15th, our theme is Transport/Travel.

Our own Melanie has donated a special prize for the winner of this challenge, make sure to hop on over to check it out!

This image is one that I have had for many years, it's called Scooter by Kenny K.  Unfortunately this is another artist who closed shop.  I colored Scooter with Copic markers then used my white gel pen on the white lines (where I may have colored over).  I fussy cut the image then added pop dots to the back.

I used the brick stencil to create the background with Aged Mahogany and Fossilized Amber then added the borders at the bottom of the circle and finished it off with a button (ohh, again this embellie is so old).  The sentiment is from Simple Sentiment Strips by Whimsy Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Ribbon, Rope, Lace

Welcome back for a new challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls.  This month our theme is Ribbon, Rope or Lace, you get to choose!  Our sponsor for this challenge is StarStampz!

This little guy is Dennis, aptly named if you ask me!  You all remember Dennis the Menace, right or am I dating myself?!

I decided to create an ATC since I didn't realize that I printed the image a bit on the smaller side.  I colored Dennis with Copic markers then framed the image with black cardstock.  I added some twine or rope at the top of the image and stamped the sentiment with Versamark onto black cardstock, sprinkled it with white embossing powder and set the heat gun to it.

I think he's pretty darn cute!

BBQ Dad - Happy Father's Day

For the Boys is our challenge theme at Creative Knockouts and our fabulous sponsor is none other than Dr. Digi's House of Stamps!  They have a huge variety of manly images and for my creation I picked BBQ Bill.

When I first started making cards, my forte was masculine cards.  My boys were young so I was just focused on card making for them and their buddies. I found it really difficult to transition into making feminine cards, I actually hated it - all the sparkle and fluff (tee hee).  Now it seems I don't make many masculine cards and I had so much fun making this one.

I colored Bill and his BBQ with Copic markers and decided to try my hand at a double easel card.  It took a few tries to get the measurements right and overall I'm happy with the turnout.  I was having some issues with it standing on it's own so I decided to use twine to keep it standing (see below).

What's nice about this fold is it's compact and can be mailed in a regular sized card envelope.  There are a few things I would adjust but that's for another time!

The inside sentiment is from the Father's Day digital set by Whimsy Stamps and the outside is from Paper Smooches Uplifters (I'm so sad the shop is now closed). I used a screw head brad to attach the bread-clip embellie or as the package says "market tags" by I kan'dee and I have been hanging on to these for many years (not sure why) and is the first time I've opened the package.

I hope you are able to join us and enter your creation here for a chance to win 2 digis of your choice!

Game On at Creative Knockouts

Time for an Anything Goes challenge at Creative Knockouts and our sponsor for this challenge is Di's Digi Stamps.

Hard to believe Summer is coming to an end, although for my video-gaming teen, every day is summer to him!

This is one of my fave images from Mo Manning, it's called Game On and is a spitting image of my son, minus the dirty socks in between the wrappers on the floor.

I colored the image with Copic markers then used dots and stripes background papers to finish it off, simple and masculine.

I'm so glad you stopped in to take a peek and I look forward to seeing what you create for our ATG Challenge!

Programmed to Party

I'm so excited to be a Guest Designer at C.R.A.F.T. Challenges for their Male Challenge!

Their fun and fab sponsor for this challenge is Oddball Art Company Their designs are so unique, there is something for everyone!  They have graciously donated a $10 voucher to be used in their store!

This Whimsical Dancing Robot is Dancing Dave.  When my boys were younger, they loved robots and would play with their creations for hours.

I colored Dave with Copic markers and added Wink of Stella to the joints.  I decided to make a gate fold card and used patterned papers by Cosmo Cricket to add to the robot theme.  The sentiments were computer generated.

I hope you play along in this fun challenge and thanks for stopping by!

This image is Bug Buster by Art Impressions (unfortunately the stamp is no longer available).  The Best Bug Buster goes to my 16 year old son, he is forever saving me from all things creepy!

I colored Gus with my copic markers then added some fun layers with brightly colored paper. I hope this will inspire some of you to start creating those manly cards. Thanks for stopping by!

Manly Amazing

Sometimes creating masculine cards can be daunting, there seems to be an abundance of girly embellishments where masculine embellies are few and far between!  I had this same problem trying to find cute clothes for my baby boys!!

With all that being said, I find less is more when creating those manly cards anyways!!

I bought a pile of digis from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps a while back (and am sad to report that I have since lost them all when my flash drive was corrupted) and I managed to print off a couple of sheets before I lost them all and have now been creating a nice selection of manly cards for my stash.

Meet Run Derek Run. He's a kind ol' chap and was fun to work with.  I colored him up with my Copic markers and added some layers, twine, brad and washi tape to complete the card.  I hope card puts a smile on your face!

Cheers!

Time to celebrate that special Dad in your life!  They will be proudly sporting those ties, socks, bathrobes, hats and playing with their new sporting gear and tools!

This image is BBQ Bill from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  My poor hubby has the same look on his face very time he tries to barbeque.  The boys and I have come to realize that no matter how hard he tries, everything will be well done.

I hope you all spoil your men and have fun!!

It's challenge time at Digi Haven and along with a new challenge comes a new theme ... Black, White and 1 other color is the name of the game!

Our fab sponsor for this challenge is Kenny K and the winner will receive 3 digi's of their choice!

Instead of a card I decided to make a gift tag with Thumbs Up Kid by Kenny K.  As you can see, my one color is blue, can't go wrong with boys and blue.  I added some glossy accents here and there, added some bakers twine and a digi ticket I picked up along the way.

It's challenge time again at Digi Haven!  Our theme for this challenge is "Something Old" and our sponsor is Floppy Latte.  The winner will receive a $6 gift certificate to their store!

For my card I used Toy Truck by Floppe Latte. This image reminds me of an old photo of my dad when he was a boy, riding in his dad's truck.  I love that photo!

I added some distressing ink around the image and paper edges, string from my stash, I used my tag punch by Creative Memories and the "just 4 you" is by Stampin Up!

Bingo Challenge at Cards for Men

It's a Bingo Challenge at Cards for Men!  Our sponsor for this challenge is Carole Bryson, an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

This here is Bob from Fresh Brewed Designs.  The first time I saw him I knew he was going to become part of my digi collection.  I colored him up with my copic markers, as you can see by his tan, he doesn't get out much!  It's been a while but I hauled out my sewing machine and did a bit of stitching then tried out some washi tape for the border.  This was my first time using the tape and I'm not sure why I waited so long, it's sooo cool to use!  The papaers are by Cosmo Cricket.

As this is a Bingo Challenge, I used the middle row:  metal (brads), digital image (Bob) and tag.

Let's Get Sporty Challenge

Summer's here so it's a great time for our men to get in shape!!  Fitting that our challenge is "Let's Get Sporty" at Cards for Men!

Our sponsor for this challenge is That Craft Place

I used an image from DigiStamp Boutique for my sporty card ... this sports-minded fellow is Weight Lifter Alf.  I colored him with my copic markers and did some distressing around the sentiment also from DigiStamp Boutique and can be found here

This is my first shot at a buckle card ... modified it a bit and am very happy that it turned out.  Will have to make some minor adjustments next time but at least I know it works!

The papers are from the Celebrate Collection by Authentique Paper.  For the star border on the inside of the card, I punched out the stars from the left over paper and glued them to the edge.  The sentiment was a freebie from The Alley Way Stamps.

Welcome to That Craft Place
