Summer Fun at Creative Knockouts

For me, summer is full of bright colors and fancy drinks which is why I chose to work with Enjoy Summer!

I colored the image with Copic markers using bright color combos.  I decided not to use any designer papers as I thought it was colorful enough, especially once I added some playful elements from Happy Hibiscus and Tropical Leaves die-cuts by Lawn Fawn.

For my project I created a tag using Skully Roses - perfect for the Junk Journal I've been working on.  I printed the image onto a tag template from Gruuleros Etsy Shop, Shabby Chic Lavender & Taupe.  I colored the image with Memento Markers then added some ephemera and stitching.

Each challenge is Anything Goes, as long as it captures that country Christmas feel.

New Challenge at Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge - May 1 to June 15

Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenges has a brand-new challenge ready for you!

Each challenge, CBC features a fresh Bingo card filled with fun and creative prompts - and while it's not your typical game of BINGO, the rules are simple:

Choose at least three items from ONE column and include them in your project.

This is a just-for-fun challenge, but it's a great way to get inspired - and you could earn a Winner or Top Pick Badge to proudly display on your bog or socials!

For my first project, I picked the "I" column, which includes the following elements: 1 Layer Card- Green - Stamped Text - Ink Blending

My second card was created using the "O" column, which includes the following elements: Mini-slimline - Stripes - Metal - Vellum

I started with embossing white cardstock with Crochet Mandala embossing folder and placed yellow striped paper overtop and layered with vellum.  The die cuts are Stitched Flower Frame by Lawn Fawn and the sentiment is Bold Blooms from Concord & 9th.  The metal accent is a paperclip with an added pink tassle.

I had so much fun working with these elements - they really pushed my creativity!

Chocolatey Birthday Wishes

It’s time for a new challenge over at the FarmQuest Grocery Game Challenge!

This fun and creative challenge blog is all about using grocery-themed items in your projects — think produce, pantry staples, baked goods, or anything you’d find at your local market!

The theme for our current challenge is — as always — Anything Food Goes! That means you have the freedom to create with any food-inspired images, elements, or designs your crafty heart desires. 

For my project, I created a Chocolate Bar Birthday Card.

I put this card together using brown cardstock and distressed ink for some depth.  Wrapped the bottom in tinfoil and added a wrapper and sentiment.  Easy peasy!

2 or More Patterned Papers Challenge at Creative Knockouts

We're back with a brand-new challenge at Creative Knockouts!

This time, we want you to use two or more patterned papers so grab your crafty supplies and join the fun!

This sweet image is Wellie Boots Girl.  

I used Copic markers to color the image, matching the two designer papers I chose. Once I had the card layout complete, I used the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Mix & Match Butterfly stamp set.  

After fussy cutting the image (I hate fussy cutting, lol) I added it to the card and applied two clear dots and called it a day!

Santa outside my window

My project features a wintery Christmas scene made with die-cuts.

I started with an embossed background then cut the red window frame and added foam tape to the back.  I created the Santa sled scene with another die cut and black cardstock.  After putting it all together, I added a sprig of greenery and a silver bow.

Bun in the Oven

It’s time for a new challenge over at the FarmQuest Grocery Game Challenge!

This fun and creative challenge blog is all about using grocery-themed items in your projects — think produce, pantry staples, baked goods, or anything you’d find at your local market!

The theme for our current challenge is — as always — Anything Food Goes! That means you have the freedom to create with any food-inspired images, elements, or designs your crafty heart desires. 

For my project, I created a Pregnancy card featuring a "bun"!

I couldn't find a digital image, so I found free clipart and created my own image.  The sentiment is computer generated.

I colored the image with Copic markers and used background papers from the Bundle of Joy, A New Addition collection by Echo Park Paper Co.  To create the banner, I used baker's twine and Tiny Banners & Toppers die cuts by My Craft Spot.

Steampunk Spring

We're back with a brand-new challenge at Creative Knockouts!

This image is titled Mechanical and can be found under this category.  I started by printing the image on a book page then used distress ink on the creases.  I heat embossed clear embossing powder over the Easy Repeat Stitched Vines background stamp.  I tore the cardstock and attached to the book page then added a few green gems and used distress ink on a beehive background stamp and finished it off with some ribbon, pin and butterfly charm.

All is Calm on the home front

FarmQuest Country Christmas Challenge has a brand-new challenge for you to join! 

This challenge blog is all about celebrating the cozy, rustic charm of country life during the holidays — think barns, wildlife, snow-covered fields, and all things outdoorsy and festive!

My project features hillside homes with a watercolor background.

I created these cards using inspiration from Kath Stewart.  I started by creating the background using the Bold Tidings sentiment by Tim Holtz, stamped in Versamark and heat-embossed with white embossing powder. I then used Distress Oxide Inks—Rustic Wilderness, Evergreen Bough, Twisted Citron, Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick, and Ripe Persimmon—along with water to create the colorful background.

To create the houses on the snowbank, I used Stitched Hillside Borders by Lawn Fawn along with Village Edges by Elizabeth Craft Designs. To finish it off, I inked the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, added a few sequins, and tied it together with a bow.
