Wanda Birthday

Wanda Cute is the image I played with for this challenge. I colored Wanda with Copic markers and used Birthday Girl designer papers by PhotoPlay to create the layers.  The yellow layer has been stitched with white thread, although I wish I used a different color, it's quite hard to see.  

After I put the layers together I used a Happy die-cut to make multiple layers then glued them together along with the word birthday embossed using white embossing powder.

I used the stamp set Baa Humbug by Clearly Besotted (no longer available), colored with Copic Markers.  The die cut is Stacked Merry by MFT and I cut a few using white card stock and glued them together for some dimension. The background was created using Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink.

Noah's Ark Welcome

A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges! We are a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will play along for your chance to proudly display our Winner or Top 3 Badges.

Our theme this month is "Inspired by a Book".  I think it's obvious that my book is Noah's Ark and this image is from the Better Together collection by MFT (no longer available).   

After coloring the image with Copic markers I went to work creating the background using Hero Arts Cling Zag Background Stamp with distressed oxide inks.  

I used VersaMark on the background stamp then heat set white embossing powder and went to work blending Abandoned Coral and Dried Marigold (#1) and Dried Marigold and Cracked Pistachio (#2) Distress Oxide Inks then sprayed with Gold Sheer Shimmer craft spray.

I assembled the card, framing the distressed background with a white frame made with my Cricut Joy, used pop dots on the image, added a sentiment, clouds embossed with Silver and some sequins.

Bubble Hugs

Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenges has a new challenge ready to go for you!

CBC will feature a new Bingo card for each challenge and while this isn't your typical game of BINGO, you are required to use at least three items in ONE column.

We are a "just for fun" challenge however this month we have a special sponsor, All Dressed Up!  The winner of this challenge will win 

My choice was the "I" column - Stitching, Die Cuts, Gold and Stamped Image.

This image is Bubbles and I used Copic markers to color her up. It's such a delicate image so I decided to keep the coloring light.  The designer papers are from the Sugar Rush collection by BasicGrey and Ruffles & Dashes die cuts by Catherine Pooler to create the image frames.

This is a stamped image, Snow Gnome by Woodware Craft Collection colored with Copic markers. As the image is pretty large, I decided to make a small slimline card.

I used the Almost Cute: Hyppo image to create this baby card. I colored the image with Copic markers and decided to use Blueprints 31 Die-namics by MFT to create the layout.  The sentiment was created using the Baby stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps and the papers are from the Welcome Baby Girl collection by Echo Park Paper Co.

Feeling a little beachy

How perfect is this image for some summer fun and aptly named Very Summery.  I colored the image with Copic markers then dug out some bright papers from my stash.  I used lime green and pink bakers twine to create a banner of sorts and the sentiment is from the Beach Filler stamp set by KLM Designs (the set is now on sale for $3).

Cheers on your Engagement

I was asked to create an engagement card for a couple, one from Canada and the other from Brazil.

I thought long and hard about this and sketched out designs trying to combine their Country flags and couldn't come up with anything that I liked so I decided on using the colors of their flags.

I created this shaker card using Champagne Glass Die Set by Maker's Mark. As Brazil's flag is mostly green w/yellow I used green and gold sequins and for Canada, red and gold sequins.  The "cheers" sentiment was created using the Scripty Cheers die cut by Lawn  Fawn.

It was difficult taking pictures of this card with the glare from the gold background paper so it's a bit hard to see the white stamped sentiment on vellum across the stems of the glasses.  It reads "couldn't be happier for you" and it's from the Charming Floral Border stamp set by Pink Fresh Studio.
