Luckiest Shamrock

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Anything Goes.

Our sponsor for this challenge is KLM Digital Designs and the lucky winner will receive $15 gift certificate to use in their store!

Since we are near to St. Patrick's Day, I chose to work with St Patty's Day Gnome for this challenge.

I used Copic markers to color the image then set to work on the layout using papers from Tulla & Norbert collection by Photo Play.  The paper border was created using a border embossing folder, added a baker's twine bow and a flag in matching colors.

Make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team then it's your turn to start creating!

Umbrella Smile

Hello all! I'm back with one of my creations using the Signs of Spring Collection by Kate Hadfield.

This collection is full of fabulous Spring elements and it was difficult to choose which images to use first!

I created this CAS Slimline card by coloring the image with Copic markers.  My clouds were originally colored with a much lighter blue but I couldn't get it to show up in my picture no matter what I tried so I decided on going a bit darker and I'm glad I did, now it doesn't look washed out.

I added Wink of Stella to the sun and clouds and the dotted lines to the raindrops were outlined using a lavender spica pen with just a touch of glitter.  I really wish you could see the card in person, the glitter background paper look so awesome.  The sentiment is from the Spring, Easter, Rainy Day Collection by We Are 3 on Etsy.

Stay tuned, I have more coming showcasing the Spring Collection!

This stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp and it's called Night Before Christmas.  The first card obviously was my first try and using this stamp set and all went well.  I thought it was missing some brightness/shine so I went on to make other cards using different colors of distress oxide inks and embossing powder.

Tropical Leaves

Ready for a new challenge over at Creatalicious Challenges?  Our theme as always is Anything Goes with an optional twist ... we want you to "Make your own Background".  We don't have a sponsor for this challenge so it's just for fun!

I started going through all the stencils I've collected along the way that have never been used.  I came across one that I HAD to have only to sit in my craft room unsued - well not today friends, not today!

The stencil is Tropical Leaves by Lawn Fawn. To create the background I used Mixed Media paper then started blending colors.  I didn't want to cover up the background so I just used strips of scraps to create a bottom border and added the sentiments.

Distress Oxide Inks used:
Card #1 - Abandoned Coral, Ripe Persimmon, Twisted Citron
Card #2 - Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon
Card #3 - Iced Spruce, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles

Don't forget to check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration then start linking up!

Nobody puts Baby in the Corner

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Love/Valentines and our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter.

Now, is there anything else that shows love as much as Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey? The movie Dirty Dancing happens to be one of my all time faves and was so excited to play with this image The Time of my Life. And yes, "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" is such a classic line.

In the final scene, Johnny dressed in his "bad boy" black and Baby in a pretty pink dress so naturally I had to use the same colors.  I think I may just have to watch this movie again, I've watched it so many times no one else will watch it with me because I can cite all the lines!

All is Calm in Blue and Silver

Blue & Silver is the theme for our February challenge at Christmas Craft Creations!

I was pondering this theme and looking through Pinterest for some inspiration and came across one of  Fiona Whitten's creations and decided to give it a try.

The stamps are by Lavinia Stamps and stamped the background trees (Christmas Tree Group) with London Fog Memento Ink and used Not Quite Navy ink by Stampin' Up on the larger tree (Fairy Fir Tree 2) and the sentiment (Let it Snow Collection by Avery Elle).

After the ink was dry I added some tree shadowing with markers, added Nuvo White Blizzard glitter to the blue tree and sprayed the whole card with Sheer Shimmer spray.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to jump over to CCC and check out the fabulous creations by our Design Team.

Please remember to add our challenge badge (above) to your post for your chance to win!

Colour in Valentines

I love cute and punny Valentines and this collection is perfect and fun to play with.  This set is Colour in Valentines by Kate Hadfield Designs

I used Copic markers to color the Valentines then poured through my stash of Valentine's Day papers to create the cards, along with some ribbon, buttons, and other fun stuff.

What I really like about this collection is it comes as a sheet, already sized and is easy to print and color, I hope you give them a try!

Reindeer Wishes

This month at Winter Wonderland our challenge theme is "All I want for Christmas in You" meaning cards for a loved one.

Our sponsor for this challenge is All Dressed Up and the image I chose is Mistletoe Kisses.

I wanted to try something different and just add a touch of color.  I printed the image on Kraft cardstock then used pencils to add color.  The sentiment is from Sweet November.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas cards and for some extra inspiration, make sure you check out our Design Team's creations.
