Candy Canes

This month at Winter Wonderland our challenge theme is Candy Canes an/or For a Child.

Without a sponsor for this challenge, we are playing just for fun and I hope you join us - it will be another Christmas card for your stash!

This digital image is one I've had for a long time and unfortunately Fresh Brewed Designs is no longer in business.

I decided on making a slimline card so I sized the image a bit larger than I normally would. I used my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut the image then started coloring with Copics.  After the coloring I added White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops to the hat and glossy accents on the frosting, candy canes and cookies.

The background papers are from my stash so I'm not sure where it's from.  The sentiment is from the Snow Globe Sentiments collection by MFT.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas cards and for some extra inspiration, make sure you check out our Design Team's creations.

ABC Christmas Challenge - W for Whimsical
Merry Little Christmas - ATG #40 (Nov)
Aud Sentiments - Christmas + A Sentiment .
Craft Rocket Challenges - Winter/Snow (Nov)

Summer Wild Thing

This card making hobby of mine leaves me with stacks of cards that just sit in a pile, waiting to be used.  I finally gathered them up and put them on display for sale at work.  A co-worker came across a card I made back in 2013, it's the male version of this card (Bob can be found here on my blog).

She laughed at the card and said her girlfriend's birthday was on Friday and she wished it was a female image instead ....

... it was quite a few years back (6 years in fact) when I purchased this image Betty, along with her partner Bob from Fresh Brewed Designs (sadly, they are no longer open).  I combed through my images and when I found her I created this card.

I am so happy with how it turned out, I even took a chance at creating clouds, a big feat for me!  I'm in love with the papers and in love with this card, I had a lot of fun creating it.

Happy Valentine's Day

In true fashion, I stayed up way past my bedtime to get these cards finished for today.  Once I get started creating, it's hard for me to stop.  At least this time I had my sugar cookies done earlier in the evening!

The images I worked with are Valentine Punnies by Whimsie Doodles and Fun Foods Idaho Study by Fresh Brewed Designs (unfortunately their website isn't working).  These images are simple and fun to work with, make sure to add them to your stash!

Used glossy accents and pink stickles to add some bling (Make my Monday Challenge)

Let's Float Away

It's challenge time over at Cards for Men and you will have until September 15th to create a tag or add a tag to your creation for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate from our fab sponsor, Fresh Brewed Designs!

That's right, our theme is "Tag It" and our amazing design team has come up with some great creations so make sure you check them out and leave them some love!

I chose to work with this image by Fresh Brewed Designs called Heart Hot Air Balloon.  When I saw this image I immediately thought about some paper I had in my stash, "What's Up" by BasicGrey.  I matched up my Copic markers with the colors in the papers and created a tag with the "let's float away" sticker and added a flag both from the same collection.

Now that I have an image to go with the paper collection, I can hardly wait to make additional cards!

Bingo Challenge at Cards for Men

It's a Bingo Challenge at Cards for Men!  Our sponsor for this challenge is Carole Bryson, an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

This here is Bob from Fresh Brewed Designs.  The first time I saw him I knew he was going to become part of my digi collection.  I colored him up with my copic markers, as you can see by his tan, he doesn't get out much!  It's been a while but I hauled out my sewing machine and did a bit of stitching then tried out some washi tape for the border.  This was my first time using the tape and I'm not sure why I waited so long, it's sooo cool to use!  The papaers are by Cosmo Cricket.

As this is a Bingo Challenge, I used the middle row:  metal (brads), digital image (Bob) and tag.

Feelin' Sneezy at Cards for Men

It's time for our Wintertime challenge at Cards for Men and with the challenge comes our fab sponsor, Fresh Brewed Deigns.  The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate!

If you're like me, I'm patiently waiting for spring to arrive, enough snow and cold temperatures already!  With the cold weather, tis the season for the common cold ... hence my choice of using Snowbuddy Sneezy for my card.

I colored sneezy with my copic markers and thought the papers from Party Animal Collection by KaiserCraft worked with my coloring choice.

I decided to make a gate fold card, it's one of my fave folds and haven't done one for a long time.  I thought it would be neat to make the sentiment moveable, like opening and closing a gate.

The sentiment both outside and inside is from On the Mend collection by Lawn Fawn.

Make sure to stop by Cards for Men and check out the fab creations by our talented Design Team and check out the cute digi images over at Fresh Brewed Designs!

Challenges:
Paper Playtime - Use a Sentiment Stamp
Catered Crop - Stars
Here Come the Boys - Lots of Layers
Fab 'n' Funky Challenges - What's inside

Valentine's Day at Cards for Men

It's Challenge time over at Cards for Men and Challenge#4 is all about 'Valentine's Day / Love'. You will have until February 26th to link up your creation for a chance to win 3 digi images of your choice from our sponsor Fresh Brewed Designs!
Hi. I am Heather Dennis. I am a homeschooling mother of 2 wonderful children, the wife of 12 years to the love of my life, a Christian and the owner of Fresh Brewed Designs. I have loved to draw and create ever since I was a child. My daughter has inherited my love of art and recently inspired me to start creating again.
All the images in my shop are hand drawn. I offer a wide range of images from coffee, cute and inspirational. I also love to create custom drawn images, so if you are looking for anything in particular, please feel free to drop me an email.
For my card I chose Dipped Strawberry. I copied the image twice and flipped one over to make a pair.
On this card, I used copper embossing powder for the milk chocolate and clear embossing powder on the other for white chocolate.
This was actually my first card but I got kinda carried away before I realized it was a bit too feminine for Cards for Men! I colored the milk chocolate section with Copics then used Glossy Accents. For the white chocolate dip, I used Liquid Applique.
