Spring in a Teapot

I'm so ready for Spring and when I came across the Flower Teapot image from Bugaboo  I knew I had to have it, especially since the flowers are daisies and they happen to be a true fave of mine.

Daisies are simple, beautiful and cheery.  Did you know Daisy means "day's eye" because they open at dawn as the day just starts to begin.

Just coloring the image and selecting the background papers put a little "spring" in my step - how can you not use bright and happy colors?!

The Copic markers I chose was to match the background papers and I added glossy accents to various elements of the image for some dimension and as a final touch, baker's twine and sequins.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Christmas with the Cuties is Back!

Welcome to Christmas with the Cuties first challenge of 2020, great time to slowly start building your Christmas card stash!

Our challenge this month is Anything Goes with optional Clean and Simple and our FAB sponsor is Bugaboo!

The image I chose is Little Penguin Decorate Tree.  I decided to use non-traditional penguin colors to keep the card bright and cheery.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added Wink of Stella and some glossy accents for dimension.

For the background paper I decided to use mirror silver card stock to keep it on the CAS side. I haven't used the mirror paper much but have to admit, I quite like it although taking pictures is difficult because of the reflection!

Make sure you check out the cute creations from our Design Team, they are great!

Viking Vacation at Creatalicious Challenges

It's that time of year when we (in the North) think about flying south to get away from the winter and this charming Viking is no different!

Our challenge at Creatalicious Challenges is "Anything Goes with Optional Embossing".  Our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter and the lucky winner will receive 3 digis of their choice!

Back to Viking Vacation ... he comes with so many options:  digital stamp in JPG and PNG format, colored digital stamp in JPG and PNG format, matching background/paper without the viking and the viking on the background.

Since our challenge had an optional embossing I chose to work with just the line image. Using my Copic markers I colored him up and mounted him on some orange paper.  The  embossing folder reminded me of "waves" so I decided to use it as the main background w/a block of orange for some extra dimension.

The design team has created some wonderful cards using the elements I mentioned above, make sure you check them out, they are amazing!

Thanks for stopping by!

A recipe challenge, how fun is that!! This should get your creative juices flowing quite nicely.  Our Creative Knockouts recipe is:

The image I used is part of the Glasses Collection.  This collection includes 1 color drawing (PNG), 6 black and white drawings (PNG) and 3 sentiments (PNG).

For both of these cards I used my heart die cuts and did some layering with the hearts and 2 patterned papers.  For the embellies, the top card used 3 silver brads and the bottom card, 3 buttons.

Time for you to have some fun, I look forward to seeing your creations!

Feature a Sentiment at CASS

Into the month of February already! With a new month comes a new challenge and our theme at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' is "Feature a Sentiment".

I had fun creating this card - in my roaming of Instagram, I came across a card from #mamaelephant and wanted to try out the design.  I'm really happy with how it turned out and it was nice and quick too.

This stamp/die set is  The Big Family of Little Snowman and is so fun to play with.  I used my Cameo to cut out the letters on glitter cardstock and pulled out my snowflake embossing folder for the background.  After I colored up the images I used foam tape to attach everything to the card.

I'm looking forward to making more cards like this featuring different sentiments and different color combos.

I hope to see your creations entered in our challenge!  Have fun and stay warm!

Snowboardin' through a Winter Wonderland

This month's challenge at Winter Wonderland is a tribute to Eileen.  Eileen was the former owner and DT coordinator of Winter Wonderland Challenge and sadly, she passed away in 2017.  A huge thank you to Helen who has kept the blog going in honor of Eileen.

Our theme this  month is Anything goes and our sponsor for this challenge is SheepSki Designs and the winner will receive 3 images!

There are so many unique images at SheepSki it was hard to choose.  I decided on Snowboardin'.  I colored this adorable snowman with Copic markers and added Frosted Lace stickles to the pom pom of his toque (aka hat for those non-Canadians!).

I used a tag die-cut and mounted with foam tape and filled with some goodies to create a shaker. I fussy cut the image and applied foam tape to the image to give the illusion of "snowboarding".  Lastly I tied some twine to the top of the tag and put it all together.

Prize:  3 images
