Summer Wild Thing

This card making hobby of mine leaves me with stacks of cards that just sit in a pile, waiting to be used.  I finally gathered them up and put them on display for sale at work.  A co-worker came across a card I made back in 2013, it's the male version of this card (Bob can be found here on my blog). 

She laughed at the card and said her girlfriend's birthday was on Friday and she wished it was a female image instead ....

... it was quite a few years back (6 years in fact) when I purchased this image Betty, along with her partner Bob from Fresh Brewed Designs (sadly, they are no longer open).  I combed through my images and when I found her I created this card.

I am so happy with how it turned out, I even took a chance at creating clouds, a big feat for me!  I'm in love with the papers and in love with this card, I had a lot of fun creating it.

'Tis the season for outdoors and camping is a family fave.  I have so many fond memories of our boys around the campfire making s'mores so when I saw this image all those memories came flooding back! 

This image is from Drawn by Krista and appropriately called We need smore teachers like you.  The sentiment is called S'mores Sentiments by Pretty Cute Stamps.

It's hard to see the background paper (Happy Camper by Doodlebug Designs) but it has pictures of campfires, marshmallows, chocolate, crackers and forks ... all the ingredients for making S'mores.

This cute image is Llama Kisses. As soon as I saw this image I knew I wanted to use bright colors.  I dug through my paper collection and found Happy Camper by Doodlebug Designs.

I used  my copic markers and matched the colors to the paper.  The sentiment is computer generated into a circle leaving room for a button and twine!

I came across a card made by Jackie at the Pampered Stamper and I loved the simplicity of the card so I decided to CASE it.

I used ink daubers with Tim Holtz Distressed Inks to make the dots.  Colors used: worn lipstick, tumbled glass, dusty concord, shabby shutters.  The sentiment is from a random set I picked up from the $1 bin at Michaels.  

This is the perfect card to make when you're in a hurry!

I have a "thing" for giraffes and elephants so when I saw Long-necked Giraffe, I knew I found the perfect image and sentiment for this challenge.  The image comes with 2 sentiments and images are with and without sentiments.  I think this image would be a great for a new baby card too!

I colored the image with Copic markers, added some bakers twine and buttons.  I hope this card makes you chuckle like it did me!
