Scotty Christmas

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Something with Fur or Feathers" and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cute image.

This image and sentiment is from the Christmas Scottie set by Stampin Up!  I started by stamping the scotty with Versamark then sprinkled black embossing powder overtop and pulled out my heat gun to set.

I found some Christmas plaid paper in my stash and used circle die-cuts as well as a snowflake die-cut and arranged the backdrop. The green cardstock was embossed using Diamond Shadows folder.

As soon as I saw this image, I had to have it - The First Dance.  I love the simplicity of the image - so many beautiful possibilities.

I used Copic markers to color the image and added a few gems to the front.  In true form, I AGAIN forgot the theme of the challenge and had to go back and add some faux stitching along the edges.

The sentiment is from the Wedding Bundle collection by Bonnie Garby Designs.

Glistening Snowflakes - Heat Embossing

HEAT EMBOSSING is the theme for our June challenge at Christmas Craft Creations!   

Our challenge will run until July 11th so make sure to upload your creation by then for your chance to win a special prize.

I started by applying Versamark to the snowflake tree stamp from the Glistening Snowflakes collection by Simon Says Stamp then sprinkled with white embossing powder and used my heat gun to set.  I pulled out some Distress Inks, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans and played with the colors until I was happy.  After I watered down some white acrylic paint, I used a toothbrush to add some splatter and once dry I sprayed with Sparkle Shimmer Spray and added a few rhinestones.  I ran the Noel die-cut thru ol' Big Shot several times and glued them together to create some height.

Birthday Balloons

A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges!

Our theme this month is MORE THAN ONE FOLD - show us your creativity and put those folds into play!

We are a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will play along for your chance to proudly display our Winner or Top 3 Badges.

To showcase the many folds, I used a double easel fold to create this birthday card.  I followed Gloria's instructions here and they are easy to follow. The papers are from the Magical Birthday Boy collection by Echo Park and the Birthday Balloons die-cuts are by Pretty Pink Posh.  To create the "Happy" I used a die-cut and ran it thru my Big Shot multiple times and glued them together to create a stack and heat embossed "birthday" on black cardstock and used a banner die-cut.

Dennis with a Sling Shot

This image is Dennis and is one of my faves as it so reminds me of my boys when they were young.  I used Copics to color the image and set to work on the Dutch Door Fold I found while scanning through Pinterest, Kim Williams has easy to follow instructions here.

  

I used oval die cuts and patterned paper from Hello Spaceboy collection by Prima Marketing however it's old stock and no longer available. This fun fold is super easy and super quick and will definitely be using this fold again.

Simple Christmas Stocking

This image is is from the Yuletide Joy collection by Close to my Heart. This set is from 2016 and pretty sure it's no longer available.

I started by stamping the images with VersaMark ink then covered with white embossing powder and applied heat from the heat gun and card is done!  Easy Peasy and very SIMPLE!  I made many of these cards using all the stamps from the set (stocking, bell, start, present) with gold, silver and black embossing powders with different colored cardstock.

Flower Frenzy at Get Creative

A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges!

Our theme this month is FLOWER FRENZY Show us your creativity by adding flowers to your creation!

To make this slimline card I used a flower background stamp Dainty Daisies by Whimsy Stamps, inked it up with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I then applied Distress inks overtop to create the yellow/green background.  The sentiment and butterflies were made using die cuts.

Merry Christmas BINGO Style

 Super excited to tell you about a new Christmas Challenge on the "blog"...  Christms Bingo Challenges will feature a new Bingo card for each challenge and while this isn't your typical game of BINGO, you are required to use at least three items in ONE column.

We are a "just for fun" challenge where you will have the chance to proudly display our Winner or Top Pick Badge!

I decided on the "O" Column - stripes, glitter (paper), layers and twine.  I created two cards with the same design, one with white cardstock and the second using grey.  I pulled out some glitter cardstock to create the stripes and the "HAPPY" die-cuts. I used my Cricut Joy to create the tags (including the writing) then set to work on the assembly.  I think what I loved the most about these cards is how fast they came together.

This beautiful image is Bouquet.  I colored the image with Copics and used a round die-cut then added Glossy Accents and pink Nuvo drops for dimension. I snagged this paper by  Dare 2b Artzy from the sale bin at our local craft store - I wish I picked up a few more pieces!

Snowman Family

This image is is from Woodware Craft Collections "Snowman Family". I stamped the image on cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  Before adding Nuvo drops and glossy accents, I used my Frosty Snowflakes stencil by Simple Stories with texture paste combined with gold glitter and to finish it off I sprayed the card with Sheer Shimmer craft spray. The sentiment is from the Top Hat Snowman set also by Woodware.
