Seasons Tweetings

Welcome to our December Challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls!   Our sponsor for this challenge is De Egel and the lucky winner will receive a special prize!

For this challenge I pulled out a colored image from Wink Wink called Seasons Tweetings and I used digital papers and elements from the I Love Snow kit.

These colored elements are perfect to work with when you don't have a lot of time to color your own images and find matching papers!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Happy Holidays!

Fa La La La La La La!

It's time for another challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is "Tis the Season".

Our amazing sponsor is The Paper Shelter  and the lucky winner will receive 3 images of their choice! The thing I love most about using TPS images are they come not only in black and white but color too!

When you need to make a quick card, grab those color images and start playing which is what I did for my card.  This image is from the Fa La La.... set and the papers are from the Lil Man collection by Cosmo Cricket that I purchased from Snap Click, the snowflake brands are by Kate Hadfield Designs and the sentiment was computer generated.

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team then it's your turn to start creating!

Christmas Gnome Stack

GNOMES is the theme for our December challenge at Christmas Craft Creations!

Our challenge will run until January 10th so make sure to upload your creation by then for your chance to win a special prize.

The image is Christmas Gnome Stack by Conie Fong Art.  I printed the image on copic paper then went to work coloring. After coloring I put it through my Silhouette Cameo and was very disappointed when the blade didn't cut through the paper so I ended up fussy cutting (which I really don't like doing!) to salvage the images.

I pulled out my brand new Stacked Merry Die-namics by MFT and cut three layers of white and one layer of contrasting color then glued them all together to create a stack,  After choosing the background papers, I glued the die-cuts into position, applied foam tape to the back of the image and placed it next to the sentiment.  To finish it off, a button and some baker's twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to jump over to CCC and check out the fabulous creations by our Design Team.

Please remember to add our challenge badge (above) to your post for your chance to win!

Merry Snail

This image is Holiday Snail by Gerda Steiner Designs.  I think this is my second time trying my hand at an interactive card.  It always takes me so long to figure things out so I hope my second card will go much faster!

I used the Movin' & Groovin' Slimline die set by MFT although I don't see this set on their website, it is available at Simon Says Stamp.  I followed a tutorial on MFT YouTube that was quite helpful.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Holidays!

This adorable image is Fox with Christmas Presents and I used Copic markers to color the image. Once the coloring was complete I added some glossy accents and Nuvo glitter drops for dimension. Holy Night

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Silent Night, Holy Night" - operative word being "Holy" so we want you to feature a Nativity Scene on your card and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed.

We have moved to a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will continue to play along so you have a chance to proudly display our Winners Badge or Top 3 Badge.

This image was created using Peaceful Night by Woodware Stamps.  I stamped the image with Versamark and set with black embossing powder and heat gun.  This time around I colored the image with watercolors instead of Copics.  I added some white and gold twine to the top and used gold cardstock for the backing.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas project and make sure you check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration and remember - projects must be Christmassy and have to be Cute!

Christmas Surprise

Welcome to our SKETCH Challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls!   Our sponsor for this challenge is Colour of Love .

This image is Christmas Surprise and I started off by pulling out my Copic markers to color it up.

After coloring the image I picked out some papers from the Be Merry collection by Pink & Main and started putting my sketch interpretation together.  The snowflake border was made using the die-cut Snowflake Border by Lawn Fawn.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Sheepski Designs  and the lucky winner will receive 3 images of their choice!
This image is Coffee Break and I used Copic markers to color the image.  After coloring I found a sketch that I decided to follow and used papers from Sweater Weather by Lawn Fawn for the layers.  I added the coffee ring by using a stamp from the Coffee Break #1 collection by Inky Antics and the sentiment is from the Simple Sentiment Strips collection by Whimsy Stamps.

This is one of my favorite stamps, Amanda saw Santa Claus by Eat Cake Graphics, I just love the expression on her face! I found the sentiment stamp at a local thrift store, it made me laugh so I had to buy it and I think it goes well with Amanda.

Holly Hello

This month at Winter Wonderland our challenge theme is Robin Redbreast chosen by our own Christine and our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Sheepski Designs.

You will have until December 1st to link up your Robin creations so get creating!

This image is Winter Robin and I love this little fella.

I used Copic markers to color the image and unfortunately I don't think you can see the Nuvo Glitter Drops I added to the snow blanketing some of the holly leaves.  I also used Glossy Accents on the berries.  The sentiment is from the Holly Berries stamp set by Hero Arts.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas card creation and for some extra inspiration, make sure you check out our Design Team's creations.

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts and our theme for this challenge is Lots of Layers!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Pretty Cute Stamps and the lucky winner will receive a $15 gift certificate towards digital products!

I've used a Pretty Cute Stamps image, Pumpkin Spice.  Tis the season for pumpkin spice I figure!  The digi set comes with a number of images to mix and match - it's definitely fun to play with.

I used Copic markers to color the image and will admit, the colors in the picture seem a bit mis-matched but I promise you, the colors match closer to the coffee cup than what you see here! After putting the card together I played around with adding some embellies but all that seemed to work was one button.

I'm so glad you stopped by and make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team then it's your turn to start creating!

Sweet Christmas Wishes Cupcake Style

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Oh bring us some figgy pudding" - operative word being "pudding" so we want you to include a Christmas related food somewhere on your card and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cute image.

We have moved to a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will continue to play along so you have a chance to proudly display our Winners Badge or Top 3 Badge.

I recently purchased this stamp set, Jolly Cupcakes by Pawsome Stamps and I had so much fun putting this slimline card together.  I used Copic markers to color the image then I went to work fussy cutting them.  For the background I used Anitque Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Inks and the stencil is Frosty Snowflakes by Simple Stories.  I used foam tape to adhere the images to the card and sprayed Sparkle Shimmer Spray over the entire card.  To finish it off I applied Glossy Accents.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas project and make sure you check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration and remember - projects must be Christmassy and have to be Cute!

I hope you can see my interpretation of the sketch in my design.

Instead of using rectangle paper layers I added the Giant Happy Fall sentiment by Lawn Fawn for the first layer and the die-cut Large Leaves by The Stamp Market for the second rectangle layer. The circle is represented by the wooden button.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Our sponsor for this challenge is KLM Designs and oooh, there are so many adorable images to play with.  I love Hallowe'en so I chose to work with Three Witches for this challenge.

I used Copic markers to color these three and set to work matching papers from Doodlebug Designs, Boos & Brews.

Frankly ...

I love Hallowe'en and I love poking through my Hallowe'en images to find ones that I forgot I had, and this image is one of those.

I wish I knew where it came from, I've had it for so long I just don't remember so if anyone out there knows, I'd love to hear from you.

I colored Frank with Copics and decided to do something CAS with him. I used Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Inks to create the background and used a star stencil to brighten up the background.  I added the sentiment from Monster Mash by Sugar Pea Designs and used my trusty toothbrush with black paint and water to create the splatter, a few sequins and it's done.

I have a couple more images from the same line and will follow suit with this design and create a few more cards, easy peasy.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!

White on White Bottle Brush Trees

WHITE ON WHITE is the theme for our October challenge at Christmas Craft Creations!

Our challenge will run until November 8th so make sure to upload your creation by then for your chance to win a special prize.

A few months ago I purchased this die set from Spellbinders, Bottle Brush Trees Etched Dies and I've been waiting for the right time to use them and this is is!

I created a slimline card full of white bottle brush trees and after gluing them down I cut out the black sentiment from the Sentiment Strips Reverse Christmas set and added some foam tape to the back.  I cut silver paper with the Christmas die from the Merry Christmas collection by Say it with Stamps.

Let it Snow

This month at Winter Wonderland our challenge theme is Let it Snow.  We don't have a sponsor for this month so this month's challenge is Just for Fun!

I have had this Tiddlyinks image for a few years, even printed it out and there it sat, waiting to be colored.  The image is called Ricky Winter Lights unfortunately, I don't see that it's available anymore however there is a girl version Winterlights Wryn.

I had intended on creating a CAS card but it looked too bare so I decided to color in some winter lights.  Not perfect but it was my first shot at it! To add some falling snow, I used an toothbrush with a bit of water and white paint.  It it a bit messy but this is one of my favorite ways to add an overall snow dusting, it adds a nice soft and serene look and for this image, I think it's perfect.  To finish it off, I used some shimmer spray
.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas cards and for some extra inspiration, make sure you check out our Design Team's creations.

Spooky Boo

It's time for another fun and fabulous challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Anything Goes and our sponsor for this challenge is Dr. Digi's House of Stamps!

Since I LOVE Halloween, I chose to work with Spook (Boo) for this challenge.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added glossy accents to the eyes and mouth.  I went to work fussy cutting around the image (I really don't like fussy cutting) then started putting my card together with some black twine and Trick or Treat banner from Doodlebug.

Our theme this month is Black and Purple.  Show us your creativity using only those two colors!  You will have until October 31st to add your creation!

I started with using Multi Media Paper and Distress Oxide Inks (Black Soot, Shaded Lilac and Villainous Potion) to create the background. After that was done I spritzed with water and when it was dry I used Sheer Simmer spray in Gold.

The stamp set I used is from Darkroom Door called Twisted Tree. I stamped the images in VersaMark with black embossing powder.  To finish it off I added some sequins.

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Challenge

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "I saw Mommy kissing SANTA CLAUS" - operative word being "Santa Claus" so we want you to include Santa somewhere on your card and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cute image.

We have moved to a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will continue to play along so you have a chance to proudly display our Winners Badge or Top 3 Badge.

This image is Peace Santa from Gerda Steiner Designs  however I see it is no longer available.  I revised the digi image somewhat to single out just Santa.

After I printed the image, I used Copics to color then masked Santa and used Distress Ink for the background. I sprayed the card with Sparkle Shimmer Spray to set the ink then stamped the sentiment using Jolly and Merry by Mama Elephant.

Autumn Blessings

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is "Pick 2 or more: and our amazing sponsor for this challenge is Pattie's Creations!

For this challenge, I'm working Autumn Blessings.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut the beautiful collection of leaves to add a window in the center.  I printed the sentiment on turquoise card stock then started assembling the shaker card, my choice of 2 or more.

I FINALLY got the hang of making shaker cards, I figured out that the foam tape I had used in the past was too thick so the sequins inside was too loose.  Yeah me, lol.

Make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team then it's your turn to start creating!

Autumn Hugs

Welcome to our new SKETCH Challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls!   Our sponsor for this challenge is Digi Doodle Studios!

This adorable image is Opal  and considering fall is upon us, I colored the image with Copic markers, using rich autumn colors.  After making the layers I started die-cutting multiple "hugs" then glued them together for some dimension and finished it off with Nuvo drops. The paper is from Sweater Weather by Lawn Fawn, definitely one of my fave paper packs.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Snowman Hugs

RIBBON or TWINE is the theme for our September challenge at Christmas Craft Creations!

Our challenge will run until October 13th so make sure to upload your creation by then for your chance to win a special prize.

I've used this image a number of times, it's just too much fun to color.  This is Snowman Selfie by SheepSki Designs.

I used Copic markers to color the image and then went thru with a white gel pen for some accents.  I wish I could remember the name of the paper but it looks like I used it all for it's nowhere to be found, now that's disappointing!  I added some purple twine at the bottom and the sentiment is from from the Merry Up collection by Penny Black.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to jump over to CCC and check out the fabulous creations by our Design Team.

Please remember to add our challenge badge (above) to your post for your chance to win!

Fancy Dressers - New Release

Hello all! I'm back with one of my creations using the NEW RELEASE Fancy Dressers Collection 1 & 2 by Kate Hadfield Designs.

This collection is full of kids in costumes and it was difficult to choose which images to use first, so I used three to create birthday cards.

Copic markers were used to color the images and as you can see, I ventured out of my comfort zone to create a shaker card using Fancy Dressers 2 as well as the Happily Ever After collection.

The collections have colored illustrations as well as stamps for those who want to color the images themselves.

Make sure to check out the Gallery for some inspiration from our members and fabulous Design Team.
