A Bit Batty

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Anything Goes!

Our sponsor for this challenge is SheepSki Designs and Andrea has graciously offered 3 images to the lucky winner, thank you Andrea!

I chose to work with Bit Batty for this challenge since it's soooo close to Hallowe'en (my fave).  I used my Silhouette to print and cut the image and used Copic markers to color.  Next I created my background using the following Distress Oxide Inks, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Hickory Smoke, and Black Soot.

After blending the inks I sprayed with water then let it dry.  The sentiment is an old one and really didn't stamp that clear, the letters kinda run together.  Anyhoo .. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, sprinkled on the black embossing powder and went to work heat setting. After sticking the image on the card, my final step was spraying the card with  Frost sheer shimmer spray.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a safe and spooky Hallowe'en!

In the Pink at Christmas

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is IN THE PINK AT CHRISTMAS" and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cutie, patootie image.

We have two fabulous sponsor for this challenge, Crafty Ribbons and Di's Digi Stamps.

This image is Three Chilly Polar Bears by Di's Digi Stamps and I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the image then I colored it with Copic markers.  For the background I used Distress Oxide ink in Spun Sugar, Pickled Raspberry and Worn Lipstick.  Once the pink background was done I sprayed it with some water and let it dry.

The sentiment is from the Merry Messages collection by Lawn Fawn which I heat embossed in gold.  Next I used die-cuts to make the snow banks then added pop-up dots to the image.  Once assembled I spritzed the card with Frost sheer shimmer spray.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas project and make sure you check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration and remember - projects must be Christmassy and have to be Cute!

You Totally Rock

Welcome to our "For the Men" Challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls!   Our sponsor for this challenge is De Egel and the lucky winner will receive a special prize!

This image is Road Works Reg from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut Road Works Reg then I started coloring with Copic markers.  This is the perfect image for me as I want to make cards for the guys on my team working on one of my transportation projects.  We're almost done the project and they've worked really hard to get it to completion.

For the background I used a brick stencil with Picket Fence Distressed Ink.  I stamped the sentiment (Uplifters by Paper Smooches) with Versamark and set it with White embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

EEEEEK!

Ready for a new challenge over at Creatalicious Challenges?  Our theme as always is Anything Goes with an optional twist ... "Black & Purple".

Our sponsor for this challenge is CAS-UAL Fridays Stamps and the lucky winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to use in their store!

I have had this image for so long, I have no idea where it came from.  Honestly, I've had a page of Hallowe'en digis floating around for a couple of years that I had colored but never made them into cards, until now.

Copic markers were used to color the image then framed it with black cardstock.  The purple background paper is from the Candy Carnival collection by Doodlebug Designs and the striped paper is from my stash.

The sentiment is computer generated and cut out using Fishtail Die-cut. After assembling the card I added some sequins and one giant button with baker's twine.

Now it's your turn to show us your Back & Purple creations!  Make sure you check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration.

Sketched Flowers

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Embossing Delight - heat or dry embossing, the choice is yours!

Our sponsor for this challenge is our very own Kelly and she is generously donating a $25 Close to My Heart surprise package!

I recently purchased a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, it's called Sketched Flowers. It comes with this beautiful flower bouquet as well as single stamps and sentiments, it's a lovely set.

Now I'm a Copic girl at heart but for this card I decided to try using watercolors.  I used Versa Mark then stamped the image onto watercolor paper.  I sprinkled gold embossing powder all over the card then used my heat gun to set the powder then I started painting. I have to admit it was easier that I had expected although the images are not small and intricate.

To finish it off I sprayed the face of the card with Metallic Gold spray - overall I'm really happy with the results and had fun with my watercolors.

Fa La La La Walrus

If you haven't started making Christmas cards yet I hope our new challenge at Christmas Craft Creations will get your creative juices flowing!  Our theme for this month is Black & White plus one other color.

This image is Christmas Walrus by Dead Sea Toons and it really makes me chuckle.  I hope you take a moment to check them out, the images are so quirky and fun!

I colored the image with Copic markers and I hope I'm not stretching our B&W + One Color by using grey - my way of thinking was it's just a shade of black!

The papers are from the B&W Christmas Collection by Paper Rose - I LOVE these papers which is why I purchased two packs!  I cut out the paper layers and put them all together with the final touches being the snowflake brads in the corners which I added some blue gems to the centre of the snowflakes.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Christmas Hugs

Super duper excited to be a part of the Christmas 24 Design Team!  Christmas 24 is a monthly challenge that will get you in the Christmas spirit, motivating you to start creating your Christmas card stash all year round!

Our theme this month is Snowflakes.  Watching snowflakes fall from the sky has to be one of my favorite things to do.  I love winter with lots of snow - those bright, sunny, cold and crisp days, ahhh.

I decided to try something different and pulled out my Snowflake Circle Die by Paper Roses.  I purchased this die last year and even though I had to have it, I never really found a way that I liked to use it - until now.

After using the circle die cut, I fussy cut around the outside of the stitched circle then I started my cardstock strip layering. I used glue to stick the snowflake die over the strips then started trimming.

I used a snowflake embossing folder for the card face and attached the snowflake circle to the centre.  I cut multiple white layers with my "hugs" die, glued them together and topped it off with a final silver hug.  I stamped "Christmas" with Versamark and sprinkled with silver embossing power, took the heat gun to it then added some pop dots to the back.  To finish it off I added some silver string to the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you now have some inspiration to start creating!

Merry Up with Pine Cones

This month at Winter Wonderland our challenge theme is Pine Cones and Poinsettias - the choice is yours.

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Fred She Said and the lucky winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to spend in their store!

This image is from the Pine Cone Spray set and after printing the image on Copic paper, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut around the image.  After coloring the images I started putting the card together.

Using VersaMark Ink and white embossing powder I stamped the sentiment on brown cardstock then took my heat gun to set the power.  I taped the brown cardstock to white paper and used foam squares on the back of the pine cones and placed them in the corners.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas cards and for some extra inspiration, make sure you check out our Design Team's creations.

Prize: $10 gift certificate
