Elves, Gnomes & Fairies

Welcome back!  It's nice to be back after a needed break, refreshed and ready to go!  Our first challenge theme of 2021 at Christmas with the Cuties is Elves, Gnomes & Fairies.  Now you don't have to add all three however if that's what you want then go for it!

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Star Jam Lines and they have provided us with some adorable images to play with.

This adorable Christmas Gnome and the "glow" from the candle were colored with Copic Markers then masked it off off so I could create the background with Distress Oxide Inks.  After spritzing with water, I used ink spritz to finish off the background.  I added glossy accents to the heart and flame, stickles to the fur on the sleeves for some sparkle and the sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder.  To offset the green background I used my snowflake embossing folder on the white cardstock.

I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope to see your creations linked up here.

Girls Only

This one's for the girls!  Welcome to our new challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls and as mentioned, this challenge is for Girls Only.

Our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is Digi Doodle Studios  and I was lucky to receive Nursery Friends to play with!

Now I know not all girls like pink however, I do.  I can't help think of the standard pink and blue when I make baby cards, of course if the gender in not known, that's were green comes in :)

So yes, I colored the image in different shades of pink and used some feminine flower paper to back it up.  I also tend to use buttons on baby cards, why is that?? When I take a look at the overall card, I have to admit I really like the layout which is a combination of a few different sketches I had my eye on for this card.

I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope you have a chance to link your girly creations here!

Lots of Layers

Welcome back for our next challenge at Creative Knockouts.  For this challenge, we want you to layer it up, that's right - show us lots of layers.  This is always a fun challenge and a great way to showcase those background papers.

Our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter and they graciously provided me with this image,  A Piggie's Happy Place, how cute is this little pig!

I colored piggy with Copic markers then added Wink of Stella to the black spots, glossy accents on the flowers and stickles on the butterflies.  The "Thanks" die-cut is a no-name brand that I picked up probably over a year ago and have never used it until now.  I like how it looks and hope to use it more often.

For the banners I decided not to stick them down flat with tape, I just used tape on the top portion and slightly curled the ends up for a little more added dimension. The background papers are from the Summer Fresh collection by Simple Stories and the Kraft paper flowers are from Michaels.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Mythical Creatures at Creatalicious Challenges

February is here, that didn't take long!  With a new month comes a new challenge at Creatalicious Challenges and as always our challenges are ATG however we have an optional twist.  This month our twist is Mythical Creatures.

Our sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy and their images are perfect for finding mythical creatures!

This image is Flower Elf that is part of the Summer Happiness coloring book.  I colored the image with Copic markers and used papers from The Summer Fresh collection by Simple Stories.  I wasn't sure about a sentiment so I opted for a hear pennant and finished it off with a navy button and red ribbon.

Snowy in Blue & Silver

I have been admiring this image for so long now and imagine my excitement as I wandered around our local craft store and saw this stamp as part of their 50% off Christmas sale!

I thought it would be perfect for our new challenge at Christmas Craft Creations, Blue & Silver.

This stamp is Snowy by Penny Black and I stamped the image with Versamark then covered it with silver embossing powder.  Once heated and set I colored the image with Copic Markers and added stickles to the hat for a bit of sparkle.

It's hard to see in the picture but the bottom layer and the layer behind the image is silver and matched it with some silver ribbon and blue background papers.

I am so in love with this image so be prepared to see him often!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you will join us for our challenge and remember to include the challenge graphic (below) in your post for your chance to win!

Christmas Tree Ornament

Winter Wonderland is having an Anything Goes challenge for the month of February as a tribute to our former owner and DT coordinator of this challenge blog, Eileen.

Our sponsor for this special challenge is Fred She Said Designs and they graciously supplied me with this colored image, Coloured Christmas Ornaments.  The collection comes with so many options and colors, the possibilities are endless!

I decided to go with black background papers to better showcase the lovely ornament.  The papers are from the Farmhouse Christmas by Meredith Cardall and Christmas Delivery paper pack by Carta Bella both purchased from Snap Click.

Working with the digital background papers I created this layout and added a banner and computer generated sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope to see your creations linked here!

Seahorse Birthday Wishes

Hello!  Today is the day for a new challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Flora & Fauna aka all plant life & all animal life.

Fitting for this challenge is our sponsor Fabrika Fantasy and I received this image to play with, Beautiful Seahorse.

I have to admit, I was a bit intimidated with this image.  The image has more detail that I normally use and I really had no idea where to start.  Once I decided on colors (which is always a challenge for me) I just started coloring with my Copics.  When I was done and had a chance to sit back and study, I felt pretty good with how it turned out and wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.

Now it's your turn to show us your version of Flora & Fauna and I look forward to seeing what you create!
