Snowy Penguin

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Something SNOWY" - don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cute image.

This darling image is Snowball Tree Theo Penguin by Polkadoodles. I colored the image with Copics then went to work on fussy cutting (ugh).  With that out of the way I went to work on creating the background with Wild Honey, Spiced marmalade and seedless Preserves distress inks.  The falling snow was creating using Frosty Snowflakes stencil by Simple Stories and Moonlight Gold Cosmic Shimmer Luna Paste.

This image looks exactly like me and my bestie so with our theme of ATG I decided to make a friendship card to give Sherry. 

The image is Festive Girls and I used Copic markers to color the image.  The papers are from the Let's Polka collection by Lawn Fawn and the Madison collection by Penny Black.  The sentiment is One Friend by Altenew.

CAS - Clean and Simple is the theme for our August challenge at Christmas Craft Creations!   

Our challenge will run until September 10th so make sure to upload your creation by then for your chance to win a special prize.

CAS it is - one stamp was used, the antlers from the Wonderland collection by Stampin Up! and enamel dots were used for the eyes and nose.  I used a snowflake embossing folder for the background and the sentiment was computer generated.

Those Summer Nights

 A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges!

Our theme this month is SUMMER NIGHTS. We are a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will play along for your chance to proudly display our Winner or Top 3 Badges.

On those hot summer nights we often visit a "cool" ice-cream shop just up the road from us, Duke's Fine Ice Cream.  They make the most amazing flavors, one of my faves is Rose Pistachio.  There is always a line up but it's worth the wait!

I came across a fabulous tutorial from Lisa at Lisa's Stamp Studio and I had to try it.  This was my first attempt and since then I have revised it slightly and lengthened the inside flap so the card will stand on its own.

There are a lot of "moving" parts but it came together quite nicely and since the images were strictly done using stamps and inks, it went by fairly quickly.  The stamp set is Share a Milkshake by Stampin Up!

Something Green

This cute little gnome is from Conie Fong Art.  I started by uploading the image into Silhouette Studio and used the print and cut function (I hate fussy cutting!).  Copic markers were used to color the image then set to work on the layout.  The sentiment was one of many included in the Creative Stamping magazine, Issue 115.

Christmas Wreath

The image above is Christmas Wreath Joy.  I used Copic markers to color the image then applied glossy accents to the red berries and Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Drops to the smaller berries.  I could not have matched the papers (Hearth & Holiday Collection by Simple Stories) any better and the kicker is I didn't even realize I had these papers until after I was finished with the image.

This image is one that I've had for a very long time, it's aptly named Ski Bunny by MFT.  I used Copics to color the image and chose papers from Holly Days by Simple Stories.  The sentiment is also from MFT, Snow Globe Sentiments.

Be Warm - Be Cozy - Be Merry

  A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges!

Our theme this month is CHRISTMAS IN JULY - seriously, it's really six months to December!

We are a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will play along for your chance to proudly display our Winner or Top 3 Badges.

I made these cards in multiples, they are so quick and easy to make and assemble.  The stamps I used are from the Snowhaven collection by Close to my Heart.  I used Versamark to stamp the images on cardstock, sprinkled white embossing powder overtop and set with heat gun.  I attached a strip of ribbon below the trees and I'm done!

Merry Kissmas Baby

Christms Bingo Challenges has a new challenge ready to go for you!

CBC will feature a new Bingo card for each challenge and while this isn't your typical game of BINGO, you are required to use at least three items in ONE column.

We are a "just for fun" challenge where you will have the chance to proudly display our Winner or Top Pick Badge!

My choice was the "I" column - Stenciling, Square, Masculine and Frame.

I used my Cricut Joy to cut out three sprigs of Mistletoe and used white Nuvo Drops to create the berries.  After the drops dried I went to work assembling the sprigs, added touches of glue here and there and finished with a bow of bakers twine on top.  

I used two square die-cuts to create the white frame and and I used texture paste and a brick stencil to create some dimension with a more "manly" look to the black and grey plaid background paper from the Let it Snow collection by Carta Bella.

The sentiments are from two different sets, Big Holiday Wishes by Simon Says Stamp and Celebration Scripts by Pretty Pink Posh.  The inside sentiment reads "Meet me under the Mistletoe"

Scotty Christmas

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Something with Fur or Feathers" and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cute image.

This image and sentiment is from the Christmas Scottie set by Stampin Up!  I started by stamping the scotty with Versamark then sprinkled black embossing powder overtop and pulled out my heat gun to set.

I found some Christmas plaid paper in my stash and used circle die-cuts as well as a snowflake die-cut and arranged the backdrop. The green cardstock was embossed using Diamond Shadows folder.
