This is my second attempt with this image. I was having problems getting the shading right on the wings so this time I just added a bit if grey then outlined the grey with my clear glitter spica pen. I loved the simplicity of it so I carried it on with the rest of the image.
I have never made a card like this (vintage-like) because I had no idea where to start. After admiring so many vintage style cards I thought I would start out small with lots of distressing - on the doily, paper and flower (although I think I could have done more distressing around the image itself, next time!).
All and all, I'm happy with the result and I hope you are too!
Now it's your turn to show us your diamonds or pearls. Personally, I favor diamonds but then again, I wouldn't turn down pearls if they were offered instead!
Supplies: Paper - Blush by My Mind's Eye, Antique Linen and Victorian Velvet distressed ink by Tim Holtz, paper flower, metal heart charm from Walmart, pearls from the Dollar Store, Memo Pin by Tim Holtz, spica pens, Copic markers, Crackle Accents, Glossy Accents, pink organdy ribbon, off-white lace.
Challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenges - All you need is Love
Charisma Cardz Challenges - Pretty in Pink
Craft Us Crazy - Full of Love

Seeing Spots at Stamptacular Sunday!

he theme for this week's challenge over at Stamptacular Sunday is “Seeing SPOTS!” Yuppers, we wanna see spots and polka dots!

You will have from now until midnight (EST) January 28th, 2012 to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week's fabulous prize donated by our very own Winnie!

Last weekend I attended a class at our local craft store, Creative Accents, where we made some feminine projects, and one of them included this cool little purse. I increased the size from 6x6 to 8x8 so I could fit a bit more goodies inside!

I used spellbinders to create the top portion of the purse as well as to create a peek-a-boo window. Note to self, make sure you center the scallops!
I was having a problem with cardstock ripping along the folds so I tried some lightweight scrapbook paper. Next time I have to make sure to use heavier paper on the flap 'cause it's quite flimsy and will probably rip easily if it's opened too much.
The smaller size, 6x6 is the perfect size for a gift card and this 8x8 size holds chocolates quite nicely!
Supplies: Paper & heart sticker from Creative Memories, Flourish by Die-namics, Lacey Circle Spellbinder Nestabilities, self-adhesive pearls, velcro fastener, transparency film for window, ribbon from my stash.
Challenges:
Alphabet Challenge - "Y"ou can choose (Anything Goes, "P" for Purse)
The Poodles Parlour - Valentines or Love
Raise the Bar - Circles
Charisma Cardz Challenges - Clean and Simple
Crafty Purple Frog - Anything Goes
Pixie Dust Studio - Going Dotty
Craft Your Passions - In the Bag/Box

I purchased these glass blocks years ago and every Christmas I promise myself I will make place setting cards. Well, this is my first year!

The cards looked so lonely that I had to make napkin rings to go along with them. I know I'll have to make more once I know how full of a house we'll have for Christmas dinner ... I may have to buy more holders too!

For this challenge I pulled out my Cricut and my George & Basics Shape cartridge to cut out this tag and the circles.

I used Tim Holtz Distressed Inks on the surface of the tag then cut out the Sweet Little Donkey image by Meljen's and attached it to the circle layers. To finish the tag off, I added some string to the bottom as well as tied it to the top of the tag and frayed the edges.
There are some amazing projects by our Design Team, make sure you check them out by clicking here.

This week I tried a pop-up card, I have to say it was fun to create.
I colored Bat House by Limited Runs with my Copics and added some sparkles to the edges of the cupcake and the bat's eyelids and of course, glossy accents to the little ghosty. I used a purple ribbon and added a Boo charm from the Charm Barn as my sentiment.
Now for the inside ... the spiders are actually glow in the dark and I pierced the butt to push a needle and thread through so I could suspend the spiders to the top of the pop up. Now it's your turn! Make sure you head over to see the very creative projects from the Stamptacular Design Team then get to work on your creations!

"You Choose" Challenge

Over at Stamptacular Sunday, our challenge this week is to create any card or a project ... Anything goes!
You will have from now until midnight (EST) October 22nd, 2011 to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week's fabulous prize donated by:

For my project, I tried something completely new to me...talk about outside my comfort zone. I had no idea what I was going to create and tried a few new techniques and projects but I didn't like any of them. So there I sat in my dungeon (my boys have renamed my craft room) with my deadline looming and it's getting close to 10:30pm trying desperately to think of something.
My eye suddenly caught sight of a recycled icing tub that I have been hanging on to for whatever reason ... and I happened to have cookies in the cookie jar (at least I hoped I had some left after the boys took their turn in the jar).
Since I had already colored this fab Bugaboo Digi "Coffee Time - Thanks a Latte", I searched through my paper stash and came up with this:
I added some sparklies with my Spica markers, glossy accents (of course) and some puff paint and voila!
Phew, that was exhausting but once I had my idea and put it together, I was in bed just after 11:00pm! Now, if I can do something other than a card, you can too!!
Now the DT ladies at Stamptacular Sunday have some amazing projects, make sure you stop by and show them some love!
Happy Crafting - can't wait to see your creations!

It's so Distressing!

For this weeks challenge at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, we want you to create a card or a project using some sort of distressing technique. Ink it, tear it, sand it, scratch it, scrape it…the choice is yours as long as it’s distressed it counts!
You will have from now until midnight (EST) October 15th, 2011 to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week's fabulous prize donated by:

PRIZE: $20 Gift Certificate
and
PRIZE: Winner’s Choice of TWO Digi Images
I tried my hand at an accordion fold card this week, was it every easy! For a quick card, I recommend this fold. I used one of Elisabeth Bell's images "Lil Lynda's Piano Forte", isn't she adorable!
I colored her with my Copics and of course, can't make a card without Glossy Accents which I applied to her bow, the roses on her pillow, music note on the piano and the dog collar. I used Tim Holtz Distressing Ink, Black Soot to distress the edges.

The sentiment "It's the little things in life that mean the most" is from Ginger's House. I used a black & white frame from Creative Memories, attached some paper flowers inside the frame and there you have it.
Now it's your turn! Make sure you check out the amazing creations from our Stamptacular Sunday Design Team!
