Sleigh Bells Ring

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is Sleigh Bells Ring" with SLEIGH being the operative word and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cute, cute image.

From this point forward, all our challenges will be just for fun and you get to display the Top 3 and Winner's badge!

This stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp and it's called Night Before Christmas.  The first card obviously was my first try and using this stamp set and all went well.  I thought it was missing some brightness/shine so I went on to make other cards using different colors of distress oxide inks and embossing powder.

Distress Inks: Card #1 - Prize Ribbon, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Festive Berries.  Card #2 - Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Pickled Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade.

Distress Inks: Card #3- Pickled Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Shaded Violet, Antique Linen.  Card #4 - Hickory Smoke, Prize Ribbon, Faded Jeans, Iced Spruce, Fossilized Amber

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas project and make sure you check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration and remember - projects must be Christmassy and have to be Cute!

You Color My World

Welcome to our January Sketch Challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls!   The lucky winner will receive a special surprise from our own Claudia and Lisbeth!

Last year I purchased June's Card Kit by Simon Says Stamp and decided to pull it out to create my version of our January sketch. The kit was fabulous, full of stamps, paper, die-cut, stencil and embellies.

I used the rainbow die-cut on the rainbow then used Distress Oxide Inks to blend the colors of the rainbow with mini daubers.  The clouds were stamped on paper that I had distressed blue then fussy cut them out.  The papers were also part of the kit

I used some shimmer mist on the rainbow and clouds and once they were dry I started planning the layout.  A couple of the clouds have pop-dots and the finishing touch was adding some bling to the rainbows.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Sketched Flowers

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Embossing Delight - heat or dry embossing, the choice is yours!

Our sponsor for this challenge is our very own Kelly and she is generously donating a $25 Close to My Heart surprise package!

I recently purchased a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, it's called Sketched Flowers. It comes with this beautiful flower bouquet as well as single stamps and sentiments, it's a lovely set.

Now I'm a Copic girl at heart but for this card I decided to try using watercolors.  I used Versa Mark then stamped the image onto watercolor paper.  I sprinkled gold embossing powder all over the card then used my heat gun to set the powder then I started painting. I have to admit it was easier that I had expected although the images are not small and intricate.

To finish it off I sprayed the face of the card with Metallic Gold spray - overall I'm really happy with the results and had fun with my watercolors.

Make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team then it's your turn to start creating!

You Make Me Happy

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is "For the Kids".

Our sponsor for this challenge is our very own Kelly and the lucky winner will receive a surprise package from Close to My Heart, valued at $25!

I chose to work with Rainbow is my Favorite Color stamp set.  I purcahsed this kit from Simon Says Stamp when it was the Stamp of the Month and it came with matching dies, paper, inks, and embellies.

Inspiration for this card came from Simon's design team.  I used my no-name brand slimline card template then started stamping and coloring with Copic markers.  The clouds were attached to the card with pop-dots for some dimension.

As with most of us, it has been a while since we've been able to see family and friends so I made this card for my niece.  We used to have girl sleepovers but haven't had a chance to do that in almost 2 years and I really miss her.

Make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team then it's your turn to start creating!

Thanks for stopping by!
