Your're Kick A$$

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is ATG - Any Thing Goes.

I chose to work with The Bricklayer for this challenge.  I made this card for a kick a$$ girl, Stephanie.  We work in what could be considered, or used to be considered a male dominate field.  She was a member of my project team and coordinated all the field/construction work for one of my projects.  Without her, it would not have been as successful as it was.  Thanks Stephanie!  

I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo then colored the image with Copics.  For the background, I used a brick stencil and Picket Fence Distress Ink and black glimmer mist.  The sentiment is from the Uplifters collection by Paper Smooches which was heat embossed with black embossing powder.

Furry Friends at Creative Knockouts

Summer has arrived and so has a new challenge at Creative Knockouts! 

Our theme for this challenge is Furry Friends and we have a fun and fab sponsor, The Paper Shelter who is generously donating 3 images to the winner!

This cute and furry image is The Most Adorable Raccoons.  I think these animals are so darn cute (in the image and in person).  I colored them up with Copics then used the Fab Frame die from Paper Smooches.  

Okay, time for my raccoon story - one of our cats likes to jump from the tree onto the roof and scratch at our bedroom window when she's left out at night.  Since my hubby wears earplugs, I'm always the one to get up and open the window to let her in.  One night there is scratching at the window so I get up thinking it's our cat ... as I'm walking to the window I'm thinking that the shadow looks a bit odd and it's only when we're face to face I realize it's our resident raccoon.  Freaked me out, so much so my hubby jumps up not sure what's going on - it was very funny actually.  He shooed the raccoon off and he hasn't been back since!

April Fool's Challenge

Wow, April already!  To celebrate, Cards for Men's theme for their first April Challenge is "April Fool's", very fitting!

April Fools, yes I fondly remember my son putting ketchup packages underneath the toilet seat ... I don't think I've seen my husband and sons laugh so hard, admittedly, it was really funny!  I'm not sure what they have in store for me today ...

I have had this image from Sassy Cheryl's for a long time and have never used it ... pity really.  This image is called April Fools and unfortunately does not seem to be available any longer.

I colored him up with my Copic markers and added glossy accents to the bells and a few other spots.  I did a bit of paper piercing around the image and used my Spellbinders for the scallop square and pennants.  I used some orange baker's twine for the banner and as an afterthought, I added some bells.  The circle sentiment was a freebie from Articrafts by Rebecca and the birthday sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
