Fancy Dressers - New Release

Hello all! I'm back with one of my creations using the NEW RELEASE Fancy Dressers Collection 1 & 2 by Kate Hadfield Designs.

This collection is full of kids in costumes and it was difficult to choose which images to use first, so I used three to create birthday cards.

Copic markers were used to color the images and as you can see, I ventured out of my comfort zone to create a shaker card using Fancy Dressers 2 as well as the Happily Ever After collection.

The collections have colored illustrations as well as stamps for those who want to color the images themselves.

Make sure to check out the Gallery for some inspiration from our members and fabulous Design Team.

Dad, you are ....

Hello all! I'm back with a couple of my creations using images by Kate Hadfield.  Since Father's Day is coming up, I decided to create a couple of cards for the special Dad's out there.

The first card was created using the "We Go Together Extras" Collection.  This collection is a freebie when you subscribe to The Doodle Den, so make sure you head on over to sign up!

The image above actually comes with fries however I just wanted the holder so I could add my own "fries".  I also added the sentiment along the front. For the fries I used my Cricut Joy to trace and cut the sentiments.

This second card is a quick an easy make, using pre-colored Father's Day Journalers, also a freebie at The Doodle Den,  I used Essential Alphabet Dies from MFT to cut out "My Hero".  I added some foam tape to the back to give it a bit of dimension.

Make sure to check out the Gallery for some inspiration!

May Layout at Kate Hadfield Designs

A new month brings a new Layout over at Kate Hadfield Designs.  While I haven't quite gotten into digital scrapbooking, I like to use the layouts in my card designs.

I did some broad interpretations for my layout, using Mini Hexagon dies from Spellbinders and rather keeping the shapes in straight lines I altered it slightly (there is a fabulous sample on the back of the Spellbinder package).

I have to admit, the picture doesn't do the card justice, in person it looks so much better.  The "Mother" sentiment was created using my Cricut Joy and green glitter cardstock.

I hope you check out the Gallery for some wonderful scrapbook layouts created by my teamies and don't forget to grab the Blocked and Squared 2 Freebie to create your own layout!

Born to Create

Hello all! I'm back with a couple of my creations using the Pins & Needles Stamp Collection by Kate Hadfield.

This collection is full of fabulous crafty elements and it was difficult to choose the images to use!

I love this one and I'll be laminating it so I can hang it in my craft room!  The border is a freebie from The Doodle Den.

A little play on words for this one! The ball of yarn is also from the  Pins & Needles Stamp Collection and the sentiment was computer generated.  After coloring the image with Copic markers I went to work using Nuvo Crystal Drops in Carnation Pink, Ebony Black and Simply White, I also added a touch of White Blizzard Glitter Drops.

Make sure to check out the Gallery for some inspiration from our amazing team and fellow crafters!

Spring is sure to follow

Yes, eventually Spring is sure to follow!  Not sure about you but I've had enough of this winter and the sunshine can start any time now.

This cute little critter is from the Signs of Spring Collection by Kate Hadfield.  There are so many fun elements in this collection but this little fella caught my eye.

For my layout I followed the design by one of my fave bloggers, Shani from Paperesse.  Her layouts and papers are always fabulous.

I found these papers in my stash, unfortunately I have no idea where they are from.  The image was colored with Copic markers and after matching the papers and following Shani's design the card is complete!

Umbrella Smile

Hello all! I'm back with one of my creations using the Signs of Spring Collection by Kate Hadfield.

This collection is full of fabulous Spring elements and it was difficult to choose which images to use first!

I created this CAS Slimline card by coloring the image with Copic markers.  My clouds were originally colored with a much lighter blue but I couldn't get it to show up in my picture no matter what I tried so I decided on going a bit darker and I'm glad I did, now it doesn't look washed out.

I added Wink of Stella to the sun and clouds and the dotted lines to the raindrops were outlined using a lavender spica pen with just a touch of glitter.  I really wish you could see the card in person, the glitter background paper look so awesome.  The sentiment is from the Spring, Easter, Rainy Day Collection by We Are 3 on Etsy.

Stay tuned, I have more coming showcasing the Spring Collection!

Colour in Valentines

I love cute and punny Valentines and this collection is perfect and fun to play with.  This set is Colour in Valentines by Kate Hadfield Designs

I used Copic markers to color the Valentines then poured through my stash of Valentine's Day papers to create the cards, along with some ribbon, buttons, and other fun stuff.

What I really like about this collection is it comes as a sheet, already sized and is easy to print and color, I hope you give them a try!

Happy Birthday

We have a fun, new template for you to play with at Kate Hadfield Designs!  Not to worry if you don't scrapbook, I had fun integrating the template into my card layout.

I created these cards using a variety of images from the following freebie  collection: Snapshots, Family Matters and Indian Summer.

After coloring the images with Copic markers I used my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut the images.  I used washi tape to create the lines behind the layers with a variety of patterned and plain papers.

Make sure to check out Kate's page to keep up to date on all that's going on, including her shop, gallery and much more!

Warm Wishes from Kate Hadfield Designs

Here is my first creation for Kate Hadfield Designs and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of her fabulous creative team!

Make sure you visit her shop, there are resources for digital scrapbooking, crafts, doodles & clipart, visit the gallery or blog for inspiration!

This is my first time attempting a Card Box and while I had challenges I think this is a pretty good prototype!  The images are from the Snow Day collection and after coloring the images with Copic  markers I used my Silhouette to cut the images.

Next came the assembly which I will not bore you with (and its just too confusing to write it all down!)
The first layer is white cardstock, second is glitter cardstock and the last from the Snowy Sprigs collection by Echo Park.

The back piece was looking really bare and I was trying to figure out how I was going to stamp a sentiment (since it was already assembled) and what sentiment I should use.  I was browsing through my dies and came across Warm Wishes.  Voila!

I haven't pulled out my scrapbook stuff in ages, but looking through all the goodies in the shop, I think it's time I try digital scrapbooking, you never know what I'll create next month!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Christmas Sweater

STENCILLING is the theme for our JANUARY challenge at Christmas Craft Creations

This image is from the Digi stamp set Christmas Sweaters from Kate Hadfield Designs.  This particular sweater is only one image of the nine you will receive - they are awesome, make sure to check them out!

For the background I taped down the Holly Jolly stencil by Photo Play and applied Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink over the stencil.  I cut a piece of vellum with a circle die-cut and after coloring the sweater with Copics, I added pop-dots to the back and positioned the sweater in the centre of the vellum.

The sentiments were from the Merry Christmas collection by Say it with Stamps. I used Versamark and white embossing powder on brown cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to jump over to CCC and check out the fabulous creations by our Design Team.
