Sketch Challenge at Cards for Men

It's challenge time at Cards for Men and this time it's a Sketch Challenge!

I used this funny little pizza guy from Fresh Brewed Designs.  They have some great fun food images that are fab for kids of all ages!
I colored him up with my Copics and added Glossy Accents on the pepperoni then finished it off with some Baker's Twine and buttons.

So, here's the sketch and information on our amazing sponsor, Letraset.  Now get going on your creation!

Our sponsor for this sketch challenge is Letraset and the winner will receive a pack of 6 Promarkers!

ProMarkers are made by Letraset and are a twin tipped, dye based alcohol marker offering a high quality product at a great price. Avilable in 148 colours, they give incredible tonal range and can be applied to a diverse range of materials, not just paper and card. Something Blue

Weddings have been quite popular this year in our corner of the world and have been asked multiple times to make Wedding cards.  Again, this request came in so I hunkered down and make a few for my coworker to choose from, this was one of them.

What Bride does not say this when she's getting ready!  The sentiment is from the Wedding Day Set by TLC Creations, a fave of mine and I used Fishtail Flag Die-Namics dies for the black and white flags.

In keeping with the theme, I dressed the inside of the card with the same ribbon and flags. I'm not sure where this sentiment came from, it's simple and beautiful.

Challenges:

Paper Pretties:  Focus on the Sentiment
Jackson's Digital Expressions - CAS + 2 Dies
Crafting When We Can - Wedding Celebrations
PanPastel - Wedding Bliss
Sentimental Sundays - Black, White + One Other Color

"I'm Tracey Malnofski, the artist and owner of The Stamping Boutique. My team and I are very happy to sponsor 2 Sketches 4 You. My store has been open since September 2009.I am currently a stamp artist for UnityStampCo. and I've worked for InStyleStamps, Squigglefly, and TheDigiShack in the past. I'm a professional artist and an active member of the Artist' Guild in my community. I have quite a busy household with a husband, 3 teenagers, 5 mini-dachshunds and an Appaloosa mare. It's noisy, but I love them all. I'm truly blessed.

"The Stamping Boutique" is dedicated to quality products and original artwork. We not only provide wonderful digital images in our store, but also several lines of red rubber images. Our designers are chosen for their character and personality,as well as, their beautiful designs. We work hard to give you our very best. Thank you so much for having us as your sponsor this week."

I used "Back to School Chemistry Set" from The Stamping Boutique for my card.  I colored the digital image with my Copic markers and added some Glossy Accents to the liquid and goggle lens and distressed the edges with Soot Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from Potionmaster set by Kraftin' Kimmie and the layout is based on a sketch from Graphicat Sketches.

Altered Journal

I attended a Mixed Media Canvas Journal class at our local craft store, Creative Accents last week where we definitely got our inky on.

I have to admit I wasn't too sure about the project, quite frankly it looked hideous at the start.  The secret to this project is layers, layers, layers and with each layer comes more ink.  The Dylusions ink spray was a fave, the colors are so vibrant.

The canvas album is by Prima and there are different styles to choose from, the one I used  is the Script style.  Some of the embellies used are buttons, butterfly, pins, flowers, ribbon, pearls, paper clip, clothspin, key, gems, and so much more.

It's a bit difficult to see the sentiment so this is a close up of the canvas letters "True".

Sports Challenge @ Tabitha's Designs

It's challenge time over at Tabitha's Designs, get ready to get your "SPORTS" on!

We have a fab sponsor, one who is close to my heart, not just because they have amazingly funny and creative designs, my very first Design Team experience was with Dude Time Doodles.

If you haven't guessed, the challenge at Tabitha's this month is "Sports".  I was excited to use Football Youth digi by Dude Time Doodles for this card.

It's not just a wives tale, it's true that no matter how much paper we have, it's never enough.  When I saw this digi I ran out to our local store, Creative Accents and purchased this fab pad of 6 x 6 papers, Celebrate Collection by Authentique.  I created the pennants with my Silhouette Cameo (love my machine!), added some coordinating brads, buttons and ribbon from my stash. The digi ticket was something that I grabbed in my travels thru Blogland and unfortunately I don't know where I got it from.  I distressed the ticket with Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distressed Ink.

Now, you may think I was creative in distressing the pennants by peeling the top layer of paper off in sections but admittedly, no.  While I added tape to the back, the pennants flipped over and stuck to the sticky stuff and voila, distressed pennants!

Now back to our Sponsor ... Dude Time Doodles is giving the winner of this challenge a $10 gift certificate to their store, you won't be disappointed here folks!

Make sure you check out the wonderful creations from our very talented Design Team, that should get your Sporty MoJo going!  Have fun, I can hardly wait to see what you create!

Challenges:

The Squirrel and The Fox - One for the Men
A Gem of a Challenge - A Boy Thing
