Happy Birthday Shaker

A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges!  Our theme this month is Happy Birthday Barbie (birthday card for a girl).

We are a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will play along for your chance to proudly display our Winner or Top 3 Badges.

I created a shaker card using Lawn Fawn's Let's Celebrate and Giant Happy Birthday die cuts, along with some fusha glitter paper and white sparkle glitter.

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you hop over to Get Creative Challenges for some inspiration from our fabulous Design Team!

Favorite Color Challenge at The Crafting Cafe

The theme for our March challenge at The Crafting Cafe is "Favorite Color".  For this challenge, I chose PINK

Our sponsor for this challenge is Delicious Doodles and the winner will win 4 digis from the very talented Teri!

I colored Steampunk Fairy by Delicious Doodles with my Copic markers and added a bit of sparkle with my Spica markers.  I made the tag some time ago at a craft class at our local shop, Creative Accents.  I was so excited when I pulled it out and saw it matched!

I did some searching through my craft stash and pulled out the stuff I thought would work on this tag.  This kind of work is completely out of my comfort zone ... I have a hard time with random but I have to say I'm quite excited out the outcome!

Now make sure you head over to The Crafting Cafe and check out the fab creations the Design Team has come up with so far then get creating!!

Mirror, Mirror

Over at Squigglefly, their challenge is "Face your Fears". Yeah, I'm afraid of spiders, mice, things that go bump in the night but truthfully, I fear sagging, wrinkles and old age more!
Not long ago, I was in a quaint little store and came across a sign that said "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, what the heck happened?". Of course, I bought it right away!

I thought this image "Oh no she didn't" by Chesney Young worked perfectly with the sentiment. The flower embellie is actually a mirror, couldn't pass up attaching it to the card!
For Tuesday Trio's challenge, I followed their sketch (below) and used the following:
  • Something Old - as in "had it for along time" - The papers I used (stretching, I know)
  • Something New - The mirror
  • Something Borrowed - The Sentiment (am I stretching that one?!)
  • Something Blue - Eyes
I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Squigglefly "Face your Fears"
Riley and Co. "Orange and Black"
Tuesday Trio "Sketch / Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue"

Hats Off

I'm off to Vancouver BC this weekend to attend my Great-Auntie Olive's 90th Birthday party. She is one very incredible and inspiring lady. This is a woman who, in her 60's, attended the same aerobics class I did, dressed in spandex (it was the 80's so spandex was allowed) and looked better than anyone in that class! I don't get to see her as often as I would like so I am really looking forward to seeing her this weekend.

I made this card for her as back in the day, she loved wearing hats. I think it needs some pearls, I may add those before I leave.

The digi and the Hats Off sentiment are from CDAC , the front sentiment is from Ginger's House and the inside Happy Birthday sentiment is from Digi Doodle Shop. I am entering this card if the following challenges:

Cocktail?

I love Kraftin' Kimmie's images although I have to admit I feel intimidated using them - I know it sounds weird but when I look through the amazing Kraftin' Kimmie DT show pieces, they look so amazing, the coloring makes the dresses look like velvet. Well, I've swallowed my fright and have come up with this for their "Let's Get Krafty" challenge: http://kraftinkimmiestamps.blogspot.com/
