Sunbathing Snowman

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Frosty the Snowman was a jolly ..." - operative word being "Snowman" so we want you to include a snowman somewhere on your card and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cute image.

We have moved to a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will continue to play along so you have a chance to proudly display our Winners Badge or Top 3 Badge.

This image is Snowman Sunbathing by Kinda Cute.  It's such a cute image and I've had it for a while but have always been stumped on how I was going to use it.  I thought about layers of tropical Christmas paper but it just wasn't working for me so I decided to go simple and I love it!

I started by creating a beach background with Distress Oxide Inks using the following:
  • Sand: Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge and Frayed Burlap
  • Water: Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean
  • Sky: Squeezed Lemonade,  Spiced Marmalade and Abandoned Coral
I stamped the sentiment using the Merry Christmas set by Say it with Stamps then I fussy cut the snowman and applied some foam strips to the back.  I thought the sky was missing something so I added some clouds using die-cuts by Paper Roses.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas project and make sure you check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration and remember - projects must be Christmassy and have to be Cute!

KINDA CUTE HOP

Welcome!  I'm really excited to be a part of this fabulous Blog Hop hosted by Patricia of Kinda Cute and so glad you stopped by.  If you’ve arrived here from Kim's blog, you’re in the right place however if you've missed Patricia's blog first, please hop over there for all the deets!

Seeing as we are so close to Easter, I created my card with that in mind using the adorable Easter Bird image.

I used Copic markers to color the images and have to admit, my first attempt was to color the egg with bold & bright colors but to me, it just didn't work so I opted for a white egg with a touch of softer tones. I'm really happy with the soft colors and I hope you like them too!

To create the tag, I used Nested Round Tags by Maker's Movement and decided on a chicken wire embossing folder to add a bit of dimension. to add some color I used Tiny Banners and Toppers die cuts by My Craft Spot with papers from the simply Spring Collection and Hoppy Easter by Doodlebug.

Now you can hop along over to Mugha and check out her talents and just keep hopping along and visit all of us, remember to leave some love cause you could win 5 digital stamps just for commenting – you don’t wanna miss out on that!
