As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers. With that in mind, Creative Knockouts has a new challenge celebrating "Flower Power".
Our sponsor is SheepSki Designs and the lucky winner of this challenge will receive 3 images of their choice!
This image is Tulip Border which was printed on X-press It paper and colored with Copic markers.
As usual, this is not my first attempt. I originally started creating clouds in the background which did not work at all so I tried covering the clouds with distress inks similar to above. It actually turned out but after I stamped and set the embossed sentiment I thought I would outline the tulips in gold. That did not go well. My pen was way too thick and when I tried to quickly wipe the gold off it made a huge mess. Back to the drawing board.
The sentiment is from the Happy Sentiments collection by Crafter's Companion. Distress Inks used: Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, Mowed Lawn, Shabby Shutters.

Michelle, those flowers are just awesome.ReplyDelete
Love all the colours!!
Well, you know that ole' saying about 'if at first you don't succeed...'. I think this attempt was fantastic! I love the coloring on the tulips, and your sky/grass backgrounds are perfect for that gorgeous sentiment. You know, I start over a lot, too. Especially if I'm coloring something with hair. If there's hair I always color it first because there's a big chance I'm not going to be satisfied with my first attempt.ReplyDelete
