Guess What Day It Is!

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is "FUNNY". Our sponsor for this challenge is Pattie's Creations and the lucky winner will receive 4 images of their choice!

When I came across Carmine the Camel I immediately started to chuckle - camels make me think of the Happy Hump Day commercial where the camel walks through an office.

Truthfully, this card still needs some work - it's just so bare.  The sentiment should be larger as well as Carmine - work in progress for sure.  Anyhoo - I colored Carmine with Copic markers and after he was cut out I added one of those springy things to the back so he jiggles back and forth. The banner was made using Bitty Banner Alphabet Die-namics by MFT.

Sunbathing Snowman

Join me for our new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Frosty the Snowman was a jolly ..." - operative word being "Snowman" so we want you to include a snowman somewhere on your card and don't forget, your creation must be Christmas themed and feature a cute image.

We have moved to a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will continue to play along so you have a chance to proudly display our Winners Badge or Top 3 Badge.

This image is Snowman Sunbathing by Kinda Cute.  It's such a cute image and I've had it for a while but have always been stumped on how I was going to use it.  I thought about layers of tropical Christmas paper but it just wasn't working for me so I decided to go simple and I love it!

I started by creating a beach background with Distress Oxide Inks using the following:
  • Sand: Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge and Frayed Burlap
  • Water: Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean
  • Sky: Squeezed Lemonade,  Spiced Marmalade and Abandoned Coral
I stamped the sentiment using the Merry Christmas set by Say it with Stamps then I fussy cut the snowman and applied some foam strips to the back.  I thought the sky was missing something so I added some clouds using die-cuts by Paper Roses.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas project and make sure you check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration and remember - projects must be Christmassy and have to be Cute!

Hello Sunshine

Welcome to our SKETCH Challenge at Creative Sketchy Girls!   Our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter.

This image is Summer Winds and it comes with both digital stamps, jpg and png as well as color versions and backgrounds!

I used Copic markers to color the image and also to create the background.  The sentiment is from Magic Messages by Lawn Fawn which I stamped with VersaMark and white embossing powder.  After set with a heat gun I blended Spice Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks to create the "sun".

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Our amazing sponsor for this challenge is Mirtillamente Digital Stamps and Paper and the lucky winner will receive 2 images of their choice!

I chose to work with Summer No. 2 for this challenge and went to work coloring with Copic markers.

Skating Penguin Tags

WINTER ACTIVITIES is the theme for our August challenge at Christmas Craft Creations!

Our challenge will run until September 13th so make sure to upload your creation by then for your chance to win a special prize.

Every year I tell myself that I'm going to make Christmas tags and every year I run out of time and end up using store-bought tags.  Well, not this year my friends ...

I used Winter Penguin Stamp and Die set by Lawn Fawn to create my first tags of the year.  I used the snowflake stamps with Versamark and white embossing powder to create a "snowy" background and went to work coloring the penguin then put the tags all together and finished them off with some ribbon and twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to jump over to CCC and check out the fabulous creations by our Design Team.

Please remember to add our challenge badge (above) to your post for your chance to win!

Christmas Night

This month at Winter Wonderland our challenge theme is "Reindeer". We don't have a sponsor for this challenge so this month, it's just for fun!

I decided to use two stamps by Lavinia Stamps, Christmas Night and Christmas Tree Group to create my card.

I started with stamping the trees with Versamark and black embossing powder, then did the same with Santa and his Reindeer and set it with my heat gun.  I started blending with Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Inks with a touch of Wilted Violet for the sky.

Similar to this card, I used Texture Paste by Ranger with my Snow Flurry stencil by Taylored Expressions to create a winter snowfall.  Finished it off with some ribbon and Shimmer Spray.

Now it's your turn to show us your Christmas cards and for some extra inspiration, make sure you check out our Design Team's creations.

Back to School

A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges and I'm excited to announce that I have become the newest member of their design team!

Our theme this month is Back to School so put on your thinking caps and show us your back to school creativity!

I pulled out a couple of digi images that I have had since 2011 and have never used, Lollipop School Girl Lacie and Lollipop School Boy Ezra by Lori Boyd Designs.  I couldn't find Lori's designs anywhere so I can only assume she has closed up shop.

I colored the images with Copic markers then scoured my stash for some school-related papers and went to work putting them all together.

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you hop over to Get Creative Challenges for some inspiration from our fabulous Design Team!
