Christmas Sparkle with Barry

Challenge time at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Christmas Teddies" and we have TWO wonderful sponsors for this challenge, Crafty Ribbons and Di's Digi Stamps!

The weather here in British Columbia is definitely colder now and as I type this our furnace pumping in heat.  I am a cold weather gal, I love cold and crisp days and if it snows, even better!  As we all know, with the colder weather comes steps closer to Christmas and I hope our challenge will inspire you to start those Christmas cards.

For our Christmas Teddy theme, searched through my stash and came across this little fella.  If anyone remembers Stamp Fairy, that's where I got Barry from.

I colored Barry with Copic markers, used a white gel pen in a few spots and added glossy accents for some dimension.  The sentiment is from Digi Stamp Boutique (another great spot for stamps however along with Stamp Fairy they are no longer). In keeping with the sparkle sentiment, I added a bit of bling.

Time to pull out those Christmas/wintery papers and start creating!

Happy Meow-lloween

Well hello dear friends, time for another challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Since Hallowe'en is just around the corner, our theme for this challenge is Purple Black Orange Green.

Our fabulous sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and Jodie has graciously offered a $12 voucher for the winner, thanks Jodie!

The image for my cards is Goofy Cat Halloween Pumpkin and goofy it is!!  In keeping with our theme, I used Copic markers to color the pumpkin green, goof cat orange and the itty bitty spider purple.  I used a chevron embossing folder on white cardstock, sprayed black mist on the front then started to add washi tape. As for the sentiment, I have no idea where it came from.

I hope you have as much fun with your creation as I did with mine and I look forward to seeing your creation!

Boo Ghosts Pumpkins

Welcome to mid-October (already?!), not sure how we got here so fast!  It's time for a new challenge at Creatalicious Challenges and as always, ATG with optional Hallowe'en (my FAVORITE!!).

Our sponsor for this challenge is Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios and oh my, she has some adorable images!

This image is Halloween Moon and I'm in love with this too cute image.  If you've been following, I've just started experimenting in creating my own backgrounds with distress inks and I am extremely happy with how this card turned out.  After removing the masking from the image I colored the two figures with Copic markers I created a sentiment banner with stamps from Hallow-scream by Close to my Heart.

I hope you join us, I look forward to seeing your creations!

Christmas Music

Christmas Craft Creations challenge time and our theme this month is Christmas Music.

When I saw the theme, I knew We Three Kings by Dr. Digi would be perfect.

I colored these three kings with Copic markers and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut them out as I hate fussy cutting.  I followed the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and used papers from the Believe collection by Heidi Swapp.

I had a bit of trouble with my heat embossed sentiment - After I assembled the card, I decided to add a sentiment. I wanted it to stick out so I pulled out my embossing powder.  I couldn't find my paint brush I use to remove loose powder so tried to tap as much as I could - then turned on the heat.  I don't have a craft heat gun, I have a regular heat gun from the hardware store so you have to be careful cause it gets really, really hot.  Well, I was so focused on my crappy tapping job that I didn't see the poor king's hat starting to burn.  Yikes!!  Had to open up the window before the hubby came to check out the burning smell, hahahaha.

Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you join our challenge, I'd love to see what you create! Remember when entering our challenge to add the above theme badge for a chance to win a Cosy Christmas stamp set donated by our own Boryan!

Clean and Simple Dragonfly

Creative Knockouts Challenge time and our theme is CAS (Clean and Simple).  What does that mean? It means lots of open space, limited layers & embellies and keep it simple.

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Fabrika Fantasy and the winner will receive a special prize.

The image I selected is Summer Duckling however I didn't use the entire stamp, I chose to use just the dragonfly.

I added a splash of distress inks in the corner of the cardstock then colored the image with Copic markers and fussy cut around the image.  I applied pop-up dots on the back of the dragonfly, added sequins and bakers twine, stamped a simple sentiment in the corner - my CAS creation, quick and easy.

I hope you join us for our CAS challenge and I look forward to seeing your creation.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Penguins at Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland challenge time! Our theme for this month is penguins.

Our sponsor is Twinkle Lane Designs on Etsy.  Make sure to check out their adorable images

This image is Snow Penguin and I printed the image on card stock then masked it off and used distress inks to create the background. I used copic markers on the image then added some faux stitching throughout.

I don’t have much experience using distress inks but I’m really happy how it turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your penguin creations!
