Happy Piggy Birthday

Creative Sketchy Girls has a new challenge this month and we have a fun sketch for you to play with for the next 30 days!

Sponsors for this challenge is our own Claudia and Lisbeth and they have a special surprise for the winner!

The image I chose is Pig - Birthday Cupcake.  I used Copic markers to color the image then paired it up with papers from the Party Time Collection by  Doodlebug Designs.  I used star die-cuts for the birthday sentiment then started creating my layers including using blue ribbon as a layer.  To finish it off I added some enamel dots in the corner.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek and I look forward to seeing your sketch interpretations!

Monster Truck TIC-TAC-TOE Challenge

Hello one and all! Time for a new challenge at Creative Knockouts!  This go-around we have a TIC-TAC-TOE Challenge for you.

Our fabulous sponsor is Jodie from Bugaboo Digi Stamps and the lucky winner will receive two digi images from her store!

Raising two boys meant our house was full of trucks ranging in all shapes and sizes.  I actually took my youngest to a Monster Truck show so when I saw this image Monster Truck I knew I had to have it!

My Tic-Tac-toe choices are Embossing (dry), Image and Sentiment.

No-name Slimline die-cuts were used to create this card and I wish I made the trucks a bit smaller as I originally envisioned 5 trucks on the front however I was able to use the remaining two trucks elsewhere!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the trucks then colored them with Copic markers.  Hillside die-cuts and an embossing folder were used to simulate dirt hills for the trucks to "drive" over.  The two outer trucks were taped flat and the middle truck has a spring backing (see below) so it moves and bounces.

As an afterthought I added the banner flags, this proved a bit more difficult since the two trucks were quite stuck to the paper so I reduced the number of flags. The sentiments are computer generated and as you can see, the last two trucks were used on the envelope as well as on the inside.

I really, really enjoyed making this card and it brought back a lot of memories of a time long ago when my boys were young, loud, dirty, stinky and above all, happy & loved.  Boys rock!

Dream Valley Challenges - For a Child #246 .

March Sketch Challenge

Are you ready for a new Sketch Challenge?! Creative Sketchy Girls are ready with a new sketch for you to play with and I am excited to see your interpretation!

Our sponsor for this "sketchy" challenge is Bugaboo Stamps and Jodie has graciously given us some fun and playful images to create with, thanks Jodie!

This cute little bunny is Garden Spring Bunny and if this image doesn't scream Spring then I don't know what does! I colored the image with Copic markers and used a variety of papers from my stash to create the layers and decided to add a sentiment on the top of the banner and a couple of enamel dots at the bottom to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope our sketch as inspired you to join our challenge!

Christmas Trees

Beginning of March means a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland!

Our theme for March is "Trees" and our sponsor is the funny and creative Jodie from Bugaboo Stamps. The image chose to play with is Christmas Tree Row and it works perfectly for our theme.

I colored the trees with Copic markers and the colors were used to match the papers.  I wanted to keep the card quite simple and clean (but not simple and clean enough to qualify for true CAS).  As I'm looking at the picture I realized I wanted to add some stickles to the snow on the ground.  I will just have to add it later!

I usually use three of the same embellies but this time decided on two pink enamel dots, one on each side and finish it off with a silver bow.

I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope you join us for our challenge!

Stitch it Up at Creative Knockouts

Challenge time at Creative Knockouts and our theme is "All Stitched Up", real or faux!  I love pulling out my machine and sewing on paper although I don't do it often because it's packed away and a pain to pull out.

Our fabulous sponsor is Jodie from Bugaboo Stamps and I was graciously provided Ladybug Daisy to play with - thanks Jodie!

This was my first time using my new no-name slimline die cuts and I really love the set.  I colored the image with Copic markers and used my sewing machine just on the yellow polka dot layer.  The sentiments I chose are somewhat generic so they could be used for birthdays, Mother's Day or "just because". I have to admit I really like how the cards turned out and I adore the image.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I really hope you join our challenge, I'd love to see what you create!

Happy Meow-lloween

Well hello dear friends, time for another challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Since Hallowe'en is just around the corner, our theme for this challenge is Purple Black Orange Green.

Our fabulous sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and Jodie has graciously offered a $12 voucher for the winner, thanks Jodie!

The image for my cards is Goofy Cat Halloween Pumpkin and goofy it is!!  In keeping with our theme, I used Copic markers to color the pumpkin green, goof cat orange and the itty bitty spider purple.  I used a chevron embossing folder on white cardstock, sprayed black mist on the front then started to add washi tape. As for the sentiment, I have no idea where it came from.

I hope you have as much fun with your creation as I did with mine and I look forward to seeing your creation!

Christmas in the Snow

Challenge time at Christmas with the Cuties!  Our theme for this challenge is "Christmas in the Snow", in other words, add snow or snowman(men) to your creation and remember, it must be cute!!

Our fun and fabulous sponsor is Bugaboo and they have a special prize for the winner of this challenge.

Bugaboo has so many images to choose from, it was difficult to make a decision.  I finally decided on Candy Cane Snowman. I colored the image with Copic markers then added stickles to the snow drifts and glossy accents to various parts of the image for added dimension.

I hope you have fun with the challenge and if you haven't started on your Christmas cards, this is the perfect challenge to get you started.

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your day!

September already?! Are you feeling merry yet, only 3 more months until December!! Well, to help you feel Merry if you aren't yet, Christmas Craft Creations has a new challenge.  Our theme for this challenge is  Shaped Cards and the winner will receive a special prize from our own Tammy.

For my shape, I decided to make a flag card, it fit perfectly with the image Reindeer Peeker by Bugaboo Stamps.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the card and all it's layers then colored the image with Copic markers.  I added glossy accents to the baubles and his nose, silver sparkle pen on the bells and top of the baubles and added Wink of Stella on the ornament string.

I look forward to seeing your creations and remember to add the badge below to your post when entering our challenge!

Snow much fun at Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland has a new challenge this month, our theme is Snowmen & Snow.  Our incredibly fabulous sponsor for this challenge is Jodie from Bugaboo Stamps!

I chose to work with this cute image, Three Snowmen. I love the whimsical feel of this image and had fun coloring.

I used Copic markers to add color and placed stickles to the snowflakes for a bit of wintertime sparkle. I love the sparkle of the snow when the sun shines down, ah those clear, beautiful wintery days!

I am in love with this card, I love the adorable image and the bright colors in the background papers.

As for the background papers, they are from the I Love Snow Paper Pack at Snap Click Supply Co.  .  Thanks to fellow blogger, Shani, she connected me with Snap Click and I have already spent a small fortune! They carry a variety of digital papers of all themes from multiple designers.

Thanks so much for dropping in and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Mom's don't have time to be sick

This I can soooo relate to! I was off "recovering" but having a housefull of boys, I didn't find time for the recovery part ... I had to find time for the laundry, lunches, dinners, homework, pets ...heaven forbid I should lay on the couch and rest...besides, it was taken up by my husband and his "man cold!" - I had to go back to work to get some R & R!
This is my second entry for Bugaboo "Caught a Bug" Challenge and Midnight Madness Challenge #92

Get Back to Work

I'm sure this is how my co-workers felt when I was off for a week recovering from my emergency appendectomy!
The inspritation was from Bugaboo's "Caught a Bug" Challenge and the Sketch is from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge#92.
