Day 3 - Days of Christmas at Cards for Men

It's Day 3 of the 'Days of Christmas' event at Cards for Men!

Today our sponsor is  The Stamping Boutique and they are giving today's winner 3 digis of their choice!!

For my card I chose to work with the Candle digi.  I colored the image with my Copic markers to match the papers I used from the Snow Day Collection by Bo Bunny.  I added some glossy accents and white highlights on the berries and glossy accents on the candle flame.

I'm not sure where I got the sentiment from but thought it worked perfectly with this image.

To be entered into today's draw, make sure you leave a comment below and be sure to check the Cards for Men blog tomorrow to see if you're the winner, good luck!

Days of Christmas Blog Hop

It's celebration time at Cards for Men, we are celebrating our 3 year anniversary!!

In honor of all our followers, participants and sponsors we are hosting a Days of Christmas event that will run today until December14th.  Each day a member of the design team will host the event and showcase their creation.  Each day will have a different sponsor and a prize to be won.  All you have to do is visit the host/hostess of the day and leave them some love for a chance to win our Sponsor's prize!

Today, Patricia is our hostess and our Sponsor is Di's Digi Downloads.

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started card making about 4 years ago when I bought my daughter a card making kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like-minded people.

I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.

This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

What are you waiting for, head on over to see Patricia's creation!

Ginger-Christmas

Of course I plan on making Christmas cards come September but as usual, it's November and now I'm cramming to get my cards done!

I'm trying to keep things simple and quick so here is my first go-around.

This cute image is Holiday Gingers by Whimsie Doodles.  I colored them up with my Copic markers then added some glitter to their hats.  The turquoise paper was distressed with my Cuttlebug Distressing Folder, Snow Sledding Winter Words, finished the layout with some twine and card number 1 is done!

Happy Moments

You would  think with all the cards I have made over the years I would have a simple birthday card in my stash.  Wrong!  I needed something quick and this card was fast and simple.

I didn't have time to go through my digi stamps so I pulled out Happy Moments set by Stampin' Up!  I've had this for so long and don't think I've ever used it.

I colored the image with my copic markers to match the papers and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the 6x6 pad it's from.

The sentiment is a digi that I had in my sentiments stash and thought it would work just fine here.  Voila, this card took less approx. 15 minutes!

This is definitely what my hubby looks like when  he's feeling under the weather, well maybe minus the horns!

This adorable image is by Flubu Monster by Paper Makeup Stamps.  I colored him up with my Copic Markers and dug out my 6 x 6 Dots and Stripes paper pad by Echo Park for the black and white dotted paper and  My Minds Eye for the blue and white dotted paper.  Added some buttons and baker's twine and within minutes the card came together.  Clean and simple, easy peasy!

Happy Birthday Sista!

It's my little sister's birthday and when I came across this image I thought of her right away! By looking at her, you'd never guess she loves fishing.  She really is a girly-girl, high heels, always done up but looks aren't everything.  Give that girl a fishing rod and she's in her glory!

This image is called "I got this boys" by Saturated Canary.  I colored her up with my Copics and added a touch of sparkle with my Spica markers.  I can't remember what paper collection I used, I'll have to look it up when I get home and the embellies are from my stash.

Challenges:
Inky Impressions - Lots of Layers
Paper Crafting Journey - Ribbon / Twine
Eureka Stamps - Buttons & Bows
Lexi's Creations - Special Birthday
