Wishes

Anything Goes is the theme for our new challenge at Creative Knockouts and we have a fabulous sponsor to help us get started - The Artsy Stamper.

The feather is from the Nesting Sparrows Set and I decided to try some heat embossing with my new heat tool from Christmas.  I had a heat gun from the hardware store, it was normally something you would use for more industrial tasks so I had to be really careful as it would get so hot it would burn the edges of the paper if I got too close.

I used a VersaMark pen to moisten the areas I wanted to apply embossing powder then watched my new toy do it's job.  The powder didn't like the finer lines, I possibly should have gone over with the pen a few times.  I used gold and copper spritz on the card then framed it with some gold background paper.

The digital sentiment is one that I have had for a very long time, it's named as Susan's Sentiments 2 however I have no idea who Susan is as I would love to give her credit.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Welcome - Two Meanings

Not only did I create a card to welcome a new arrival, I've been welcomed into a new design team, Creative Sketchy Girls!  I'm excited to be a part of this amazing team and to get my creativity flowing with some fun sketches they have planned throughout the year - I hope you join in the fun!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Sheepski Designs and this darling little image is Little Heart.  I used Copic markers to color the image and used Spellbinders to create the ovals, regular and scallop.  To create the layout, the papers I used are from It's a Boy from Carta Bella.

If you follow my posts, you'll know I don't really like making shaker cards but I decided to give it another shot.  One of my pet peeves is that the elements inside always fall to the bottom and to me the effect is lost.  This time I added some clear glue on the paper so some of the sequins would stay in place.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you join us for our Sketch challenge, I look forward to seeing your creations!

Snowboarder

Creatalicious Challenge time! Our theme for this challenge is ATG with optional "Kraft Paper".  Our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter and they have so many adorable images to choose from, make sure to check their store out!

For this challenge I decided to go completely digital.

This wintery image is Snowboarder Girl and not only does it come in black and white, you will also receive color images and a beautiful digital background to play with.

Since our "optional" was Kraft paper, I used digital background paper from The Digi Rainbow Christmas Kraft Pack.  The additional elements are from the I Love Snow Complete Pack over at Snap Click Supply Co.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your creations!

2020 Wiped Me Out!

Welcome back and Happy 2021!  Christmas Craft Creations has a new challenge and our theme this month is Ribbon or Twine.  You have a choice, or maybe use both - the possibilities are endless!

I have recently used this image and have decided to use it again in a different layout.  I love this image from Whimsy Stamps, TP Dudley is too funny! TP Dudley is a freebie so if you don't have him already, you should!

I colored Dudley with Copic markers then fussy cut the image.  I used Party Time stencil by Ranger with distress inks to create the background.  The sentiment was computer generated and for the finishing touch, added matching ribbon. I used pop dots on Dudley then stuck him to the middle of the card.

Hope you enjoy the humor and let 2021 begin!
(please remember to add the challenge graphic above to your post for your chance to win)

Time to Celebrate at Creative Knockouts

Ready for our first challenge of 2021?! That's right, New Year New Challenge at Creative Knockouts and our theme is "Celebrate". Our generous sponsor for our challenge is Twinkle Lane Designs.

This adorable image by Twinkle Lane Designs is Cute Baby Elephants.

I colored the image with Copic markers, trying my best to match the background papers Hello Happiness by Taylored Expressions.

I wasn't sure if I could pull off the layout, I really wanted to use 3 different designs of papers and didn't want to have square layers - I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.  The banner (Tiny Banners & Toppers by My Craft Spot) was a last minute addition, it just needed something.

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure to check out the fabulous creations from our Design Team!

Happy New Year

Time for January's ATG Challenge at Arty Divas!  To wish you all a Happy New Year, I created this card using TP Dudley, illustrated by Dustin Pike.  It's currently a freebie at Whimsy Stamps.

For me, this image represents a clean slate, flush 2020 away and bring on 2021!

I colored Dudley with Copic markers then used scissors to fussy cut the image.  The stamped border is from the Stitched Together (C1459) collection by Close to my Heart, Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink in the corner then sprayed pewter Sheer Spritz over the entire card.  After drying, I used pop dots on Dudley and stuck him to the card and added the sentiment from Merry Christmas collection by PhotoPlay.

Our talented team at Arty Divas has some wonderful creations, I hope you visit them and leave some love.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you join us, I'd love to see your creation!

Gingerbread Greetings

Happy New Year to all! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and fun ringing in 2021!

Winter Wonderland has a new challenge to celebrate the new year and our theme is Sweet Treats. To help us celebrate our challenge, our wonderful sponsor Twinkle Lane Designs provided us with some sweet images to play with.

This image is Gingerbread Treat. and I used Copic markers to color the image to match the background digital papers.

After coloring the image I added some sparkly stickles to the snowflake and the sentiments are from the Festive Ticker Tape Wording collection by Creative Expressions.  The background papers are by Milachi Designs.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your creations!

Sweetest Time of the Year

We're in the home stretch now, are you ready for Santa's visit? This is my last week of work until January so I'm happy that I'll have some time to finish up any last minute things I may have forgotten.  I'm looking forward to some time off and excited that my oldest son Lane will make it home for Christmas. It will be a much smaller Christmas this year as I'm sure it will be for most of us.

Onward to our challenge at Creative Knockouts and the theme for this challenge is ATG or Anything Goes!

Our fab and fun Sponsor is SheepSki Designs.  I love the unique and funny designs, make sure to check them out!

I was super excited to play with this image, Ginger Hot Tub!

I printed the image on Copic paper then masked it off to create the background with Distressed Oxide Inks: Candied Apple, Pickled Raspberry and Worn Lipstick.  After that was done I colored the image with Copics, added the sentiment, twine and button.

Thanks so much for stopping by and would like to wish everyone a safe, health and happy holiday season!

Merry Christmas CAS Style

Our last ATG challenge of 2020 at Creatalicious Challenges

Our sponsor for this challenge is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and in keeping with the CAS theme, I made the following card.

I used the Merry Christmas stamp and die-cut set by Photo Play.  I added multiple "merry" layers to the die cut for some height and dimension then used Festive Berries Distress Oxide ink for the middle splotch.  Put it all together with a smattering of sequins and the CAS Card is done!

Thanks for stopping by for a quick CAS visit and I hope to see your creations!

Just Believe

Christmas with the Cuties has their last challenge of 2020 starting now! Our theme is "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - ATG with optional "Based on a Carol/Song" and remember, it must be cute!

Our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is Polkadoodles!

I decided to play with the pre-colored image, Santa's Suit.  I used circle die-cuts on the image and coordinating cardstock for the background circle., added some gold and white twine and a few gold sequins to finish off the card.

I hope you have all finished off your Christmas cards, if not make sure to join our challenge for some last minute inspiration!  Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Holidays / Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.  Stay safe!
