Flower Power at Creative Knockouts

As the saying goes,  April showers bring May flowers.  With that in mind, Creative Knockouts has a new challenge celebrating "Flower Power".

Our sponsor is SheepSki Designs and the lucky winner of this challenge will receive 3 images of their choice!

This image is Tulip Border which was printed on X-press It paper and colored with Copic markers.

As usual, this is not my first attempt.  I originally started creating clouds in the background which did not work at all so I tried covering the clouds with distress inks similar to above.  It actually turned out but after I stamped and set the embossed sentiment I thought I would outline the tulips in gold.  That did not go well. My pen was way too thick and when I tried to quickly wipe the gold off it made a huge mess. Back to the drawing board.

The sentiment is from the Happy Sentiments collection by Crafter's Companion.  Distress Inks used: Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, Mowed Lawn, Shabby Shutters.

  3. Well, you know that ole' saying about 'if at first you don't succeed...'. I think this attempt was fantastic! I love the coloring on the tulips, and your sky/grass backgrounds are perfect for that gorgeous sentiment. You know, I start over a lot, too. Especially if I'm coloring something with hair. If there's hair I always color it first because there's a big chance I'm not going to be satisfied with my first attempt.
